Acknowledging Americans might not “be ready for it,” Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump called for the death penalty for drug dealers to help combat the effects of becoming a “drug-infested nation.”
Trump made the comments during a speech at a rally in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, carried live by Newsmax on Friday, a key battleground in the upcoming election. Trump said a drug dealer in the U.S. kills 500 people, on average, over the course of dealing fentanyl and other dangerous drugs.
“So a drug dealer kills 500 people. And the only thing they would understand would be the death penalty. If you had the death penalty for drug dealers, you wouldn't have any more drugs,” Trump told the crowd.

I get the idea, and the appeal to some people.
But if a consenting adult injects himself with too much heroin in St Louis, this is not a matter for the DOJ.
Parenthetically, for those who think George Floyd oD’d, Trump is arguing that the federal government should execute the guy who sold George Floyd fentanyl.
At the federal level? Blue States would balk at actual executions. But...life on death row is probably a deterrent.

It’s quite simple. If you are caught with a certain amount, you’re hung. Just like ISingapore. Hang ‘em behind closed doors, I don’t care. Or, we could inject them with their own fentanyl. Seems quite deadly.
Probably end up with a lot of low level dealers in jail or on death row. The big guys will always be able to recruit low level people to do the retail work.
The whole "war on some drugs" has been a disaster for the country.
I expect that you and your family have trained each other to pack your own luggage, lock everything, mind your belongings in public and not to handle packages that you don’t know the contents.
