The U.S. Navy is Running Dangerously Low on Munitions
National Security Journal ^ | 8/14/2024 | Jim Fein

Posted on 08/14/2024 8:10:55 AM PDT by whyilovetexas111

You can be the best shot in the world, but your expertise won’t count for much if you run out of bullets. The same principle holds true for a country’s armed forces. Just ask the U.S. Navy. It’s getting low on munitions—yet the Pentagon is refusing to ask for sufficient supplies to replace them.

Remember when Bill Clinton almost used up our stockpile of Cruise Missiles to bomb a bunch of tents and an veterinary drug production facility? He killed one night guard that the US paid his relatives nicely. He’d hoped to keep Monica off the news cycle...Democrat policy.

Where the US Navy is falling apart is on drone defense. Shooting down $250 Houthi missiles with $5 million SM-6s is a good way for the US to run out of weaponry and go broke at a pretty fast clip. We desperately need cost effective drone defenses.

Maybe they can ask to borrow some back from Ukraine.

><

Ukraine doesn’t have a navy.

According to the Heritage article, the shortage exists because the current Congress won’t approve multi-year contracts for naval weapons procurement.

It’s an election year, and you can’t expect the money allocated to the military, going to the military. The corrupt politicians need the cash.

OH NOZE ! How is the USA going to do NATO's and the Saudi's dirty work of killing dictators and taking their oil with Dangerously low supplies of munitions !

tragic indeed ! might have to go back to domestic production and just convert the flat tops into rainbow flagged cruise ships

I doubt they used a lot of missiles just on that.
There werent that many ships deployed - just two destroyers IIRC. And the count of shootdowns I saw wasnt huge.

The real problem I think is the Navy stockpiles are aging out.

Biden had to save budget money from somewhere. I doubt US readiness to fight China was at the top of his priority list.

Whatever is demanded because demonstrably urgently needed is what will be malevolently and deliberately denied. And for the same reason.

Trump, RFK starved of warm agent bodies by SS leadership. Precisely BECAUSE they were urgently needed.

In personal relationships this is a brutal form of abuse. Sometimes falling under the category of verbal abuse. It can be described as a form of gaslighting. The unspoken message: “You say you need that. You may think or feel that you need that. But I know you, and I know you don’t need that. So stop asking for it.”

Even if they procured new weapons the USA industrial base cannot restock at the same pace as during the cold war. Thanks Free Traitors™

How many militaries actually are stupid enough to plain tell potential and real enemies a true state of their military readiness?

Sun Tsu said when weak appear strong, when strong appear weak.

"Our" government can't even get that right.
