““We’ve had higher priority assassinations on our list, so this one has nothing to do with us.””

Exactly. Higher priority “domestic” assassinations.

“Ismail Haniyeh was killed early Wednesday morning in an apparent assassination attempt in Iran.”

When does an attempted assassination become a real assassination? I always thought it was when the target was killed, but I’m not a professional journalist.

Still this was a Mossad intelligence failure. Iran was able to plan , ship missiles, arms and personnel into Gaza long before the October 7 attack. If this fiend was the Hamas point man in Tehran, he should have been neutralized long ago and the whole plot exposed before over 1,100 Israeli soldiers and civilians were killed, many more taken hostage, physically and psychologically maimed.

Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, who was killed early Wednesday morning in an apparent assassination attempt in Iran. . .

Okay--"killed." That means the dude's room temperature. The "attempt" would appear to have been successful, no? That means it was an "assassination." Not merely attempted, but achieved.

Maybe the girls at The Hill's copy desk are just trying to let everyone know how much they hate the Jews. Does the idea of a Moslem murderer getting a permanent taste of eternity make you sad? Just throw around words like "attempt" to imply failure or futility, the way a good little Democrat would.

Say, you girls at The Hill aren't Democrats, are you? No way.
