CNN Guest: Prosecution ‘Fell Way Short’ of Proving Case Against Trump
Breitbart ^ | 05/28/2024 | PAM KEY

Defense attorney Randy Zelin said Tuesday on CNN’s “News Central” that the prosecution in former President Donald Trump’s business record trial “fell way short” of proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

Host Kate Bolduan said, “The burden of proof is an important one to remind everyone: It’s on the prosecution, right? They need to prove beyond reasonable doubt that he commit, that Donald Trump broke the law. And you think after listening to all of this, you think they fell short. How?”

Zelin said, “They fell way short, because let’s start with reasonable doubt. What is reasonable doubt? And it’s not simply a doubt based upon reason. Any time a human being needs to make an important decision in life, if you have enough information, for example, doctor says you need open heart surgery. ‘Doc, go ahead and schedule. I don’t have a reasonable doubt.’ Conversely, if I say ‘I appreciate it, but I need a second opinion, I need more information.’ that is having a reasonable doubt. There is reasonable doubt all over this case.

It doesn’t matter. He was judged guilty before the jury was ever seated.

“As if that matters.”

Exactly. Trump will be convicted.

Have they told the jurors what the crime is? Or are they expected to see the guilt beyond a reasonable doubt just based on their icky feelings when they think about Trump?

I honestly don’t understand the 34 indictments brought against trump

Do the jurors have to convict on only 1 out of 34 to send him to jail ?

Do they have to hang on only 1 of 34 to set him free ?

I really don’t understand what’s going on.

If anyone can explain much appreciate it

It’s on the prosecution, right?

That's what it's supposed to be. But I've heard way too many times in the media: "Attempts to prove that he's innocent", both for President Trump, and others for that matter.

I'm not convinced that even juries understand that anymore. Seems if you get accused of something, and can't prove that you DIDN'T do it, you're pretty well screwed.

Merchan will pre-empt the jury and make a summary judgement based on the evidence.
“Guilty”.

Ever see the movie Back to School? Toward the end Thornton (Rodney Dangerfield's character) has to take an oral exam by all of his professor. One of them who HATES Thornton has only one question to ask... in twenty-seven parts.

(Thornton passes, much to the prof's chagrin.)

Same basic principle happening in Mad Merchan's courtroom. The leftists are making damn sure that something, ANYTHING will stick to Trump and bring him down.

They hope just one of the counts puts Trump where they can have him easily assassinated.

ALL ways from Sunday are on the table, by ALL the World’s Evil Agencies.
Most especially, our own.

If you are saying that they only need 1 guilty out of 34 to send trump to jail then the odds are not in our favour !! Is that what you are saying ? They only need 1 out of 34 to convict !!! Doesn’t seem clear to me

Even CNN sees this entire “Case” is pure crap. Honestly all of this over a check, a CHECK..murderers dont get this type of sentence but Trump can get it over a CHECK..a CHECK!! If Im the defense lawyer I would have asked the jury when you get into the deliberation room ask yourself one question “What the hell am I doing here”

'I really don’t understand what’s going on.'

The jury doesn't, either.

That's exactly what I'm saying.

They need only one charge to find Trump guilty of.

They have almost three dozen to aim at him.

Loved that movie, the Triple Lindy. I liked all of Rodney Dangerfield’s movies.

But it’s the same charge three dozen times. The evidence for one is the same for all.

In a sane world beholden to the rule of law, that would be so.

Merchan and Bragg are showing us that this is not so.

A New York jury convicted him of sexual assault with zero evidence whatsoever. Of course they will find him guilty here too.
