New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) announced that the city’s Department of Corrections was prepared to imprison former President Donald Trump at Rikers Island.
Adams’ comments came a day after New York Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan, the judge presiding over Trump’s business records trial, threatened to jail the former president after finding him in contempt for violating a gag order for the tenth time.

The Democrat mayor needs to be tarred and feathered
Do we still house troops in our homes?
Democrats have to win or else.
Psalm 37 is good for the soul in times like ours:
12bThe wicked plot against the righteous
and gnash their teeth at them;
13 but the Lord laughs at the wicked,
for he knows their day is coming.
14 The wicked draw the sword
and bend the bow
to bring down the poor and needy,
to slay those whose ways are upright.
15 But their swords will pierce their own hearts,
and their bows will be broken.
Adams has turned out to be even more incompetent than his predecessor, DeBlasio.
Could be the spark that starts it. People are pissed and rightfully so. The Supremes could intercede on an emergency basis.
Thank you for the good reminder of that Psalm.
The US Supreme Court won’t intervene in a contempt order by a state trial court. Trump will have to exhaust his state legal remedies before starting in the local federal district court to begin that avenue.
It’s Obama behind the curtain, getting exactly what he has
been wanting.
>> The US Supreme Court won’t intervene in a contempt order by a state trial court.
Not as long as the penalty is a fine.
But if Merchan tries to JAIL him, damn straight USSC will step in.
He’s a President of the United States, and the putative candidate up for election in six months. That changes everything.
But as President Trump himself says, “We’ll just have to wait and see what happens.”
Many Democrat cities have already asked people to take the invading, young, male army of "newcomers" from south of the border into their homes. They have not YET ordered people to do that.
Many people have drawn parallels between that Democrat "request" and the quartering of British soldiers in American homes.
"The Quartering Acts were two or more Acts of British Parliament (1765 and 1774) requiring local governments of Britain's North American colonies to provide the British soldiers with housing and food. Each of the Quartering Acts was an amendment to the Mutiny Act and required annual renewal by Parliament. They were originally intended as a response to issues that arose during the French and Indian War and soon became a source of tensions between the inhabitants of the Thirteen Colonies and the government in London. These tensions would later lead toward the American Revolution."
That’s the common belief. I agree, but I think there’s more to it.
Did I miss something ? People who are in Prison can now Vote ?
It’s good for his election. He can credibly make the argument that what Democrats did to him, they’d do to all Americans if given a chance.
Yes and who thought that was possible?
>> People who are in Prison can now Vote ?
Sure they can! If their role in prison is (for example) guard... chaplain... warden...
I didn’t say “prisoners”, I said “prison personalities”. ;-)
Rikers is a jail not a prison. People in jail in nys have a right to vote. Heck they changed the law in nys now felons released have the right to vote.
I actually hope these corrupt SOBs and their corrupted nasty justice system puts Trump in one of their cages...
Do it!
“...the city’s Department of Corrections was prepared to imprison former President Donald Trump at Rikers Island.”
The city’s Department of Corrections will have nothing to do with Trump. As corrupt as most correctional officers are, the Secret Service will most likely deny any of them being involved. How much will it cost NY when and entire prison block houses only one man? And the prison system has no control over him?
So Eric, when is your sexual assault trial going to start?
