Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-VA) raged at Republicans lawmakers on the House floor for opposing an aid package to Ukraine before Saturday’s vote.
The House passed a $61 billion aid bill for Ukraine amid the country’s current war with Russia. Lawmakers also passed other bills providing assistance to Taiwan and other U.S. allies.
Hardline conservative lawmakers opposed the bipartisan legislation by arguing the money should have gone towards security at the U.S. southern border. Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) worked with Democratic lawmakers to bring the aid bills to the floor and ensured it’s passage.
Connolly responded to those complaints by noting that the “the Ukrainian-Russian border is our border” and is vital to U.S. national security.
“Some say, well, we have to deal with our border first,” the Virginia lawmaker said during his speech. “The Ukrainian-Russian border is our border! It’s the border between depraved autocracy and freedom loving people seeking our democratic way of life! Do we have a stake in that outcome? Yes. Undeniably, yes.”

“They just want ot keep sending OUR money elsewhere, while those in our own nation suffer!”
That elsewhere is their own pockets.
That’s actually a good idea. Irish immigrants were immediately dragooned into the Civil War. We should set up processing centers at the border. “Welcome to America, there’s your flight to Ukraine.”
“It’s the border between depraved autocracy and freedom loving people seeking our democratic way of life!”
I’m so sick of this kind of rhetoric. Vietnam, Kuwait, Iraq, Serbia, Libya, etc etc etc.
They pretend “freedom loving” means we should go to war for them. I used to fall for that crap. Now I want to see a clear delineation of our national interest in war.
And “depraved autocracy”. Russia is just another crappy country run by another set of power hungry folks.
“ It’s the border between depraved autocracy and freedom loving people”
Oh.
That would be the border of Washington D.C.
Mr. Gerry Connolly shrieks a lot of macho talk about making Ukraine’s border “our border”; yet in his bio, he had a college draft deferment until 1971, the four roughest years of Vietnam, and he appears never to have been in uniform. Its really easy to send others to war and shout loud bully threats when you yourself were a shrinking wallflower, Mr. Gerry Connolly.
The scum in Congress will happily reinstate the draft and send American boys & girls to die for that border. It’s the only way to protect it.
The former United States is gone. It’s past the disappearing stage.
Why doesn’t Gerry enlist in the Ukrainian army? The coward. It’s better for him to saying meaningless tripe than to risk his own life.
Especially the straight, religious white males.
Thank you for sharing that history.
I’ll continue to fight on, but it does look bleak.

We have no border; Joe Bidet is protecting Ukrain’s border.
Good to see someone else has that website bookmarked as well.
The election is already stolen and they won’t even try to hide it this time. 2025 is when our future as a nation will be decided.
At this rate, it won’t be one in less than 20 years.
Looks like it’s time to anticipate going more “Galt” than I’ve already gone.
The border of the Globalist Hegemony maybe, but it is not the U.S. border.
*If America survives another 100 years, I won’t see.
But I can tell you with conviction, America won’t be a constitutional republic in 100 years.*
God created the world and He knew it could only last for so long.
He started all over with Noah. He recognized man had a tendency to go walk with the devil..
So He has a rapture planned to take all who He knows, to a place where peace reins and the fall of mankind on earth, is no more. Not everyone is lifted up.. But everyone could be, in Jesus.
