Kings County agencies and growers may face probation and millions of dollars in fines — which could be the first step toward the state wresting control of groundwater.

I agree totally.
Scary. Another reason for the 2nd amendment.
Once the targeted growers are forced out of business and into sale (to the ‘right’ people) all this State concern over underground water will magically disappear. It’s all about the MONEY. Follow it.
This has been a very mild spring so far and I have gotten a lot done in my garden. I’ve only planted cool weather crops, but got them in much earlier than usual so should have a good crop.
I’ll have lots of onions and potatoes to store and am trying to decide on whether to do pumpkins or butternut squash. I’m learning to save seed and so won’t plant two things like squash and pumpkins at the same time so they don’t cross pollinate and hybridize.
If someone wants to garden and do their own seed saving, they need to do what are called heirloom varieties or open pollinated. Hybrid seeds will not breed true as the heirloom and OP will.
I saw they are using that bogus U of Michigan study that presents home gardens as being very bad for the environment.
They completely designed it to fail to show that home gardens have NO impact on climate.
They included a lot of factors that are not part of the garden, and counted things like composting, completely side stepping the fact that kitchen waste will rot somewhere else if not in the home garden. Instead it will end up taking up space in a landfill and rotting there instead.
They also didn’t consider or address at all that if someone doesn’t do a home veggie garden, they’ll have lawns and landscaping, which require almost identical maintenance.
But that all won’t stop them from trying to keep people from being free and independent and not subject to the control of the WEF.
"The science is settled."

State laws regulating water are nothing new, particularly in western states where water is scarce.
“Death to the Kulaks!”
It works... My Greatgrandparents on my Father’s side died in the holodomor.
and did you eat any fruits and vegetables from said farms??? hummm? you ate the water...
If your crops depend on irrigation, you are not going to make it long term.
History has shown that.
We are going to learn some very, very hard lessons about why you don’t farm in the desert.
There are areas in the valley that have dropped 6 feet due to empty aquifers.
The state cannot sustain the pressure San Joaquin farmers are putting on the water supply.
There is too much farming here. And most of it is for export, so don’t recite those lame stories about “you’ll starve if farmers are not allowed to rape the environment”.
It’s complete BS.
“Then the farmers will leave the state and quit farming in the Peoples republic of California.”
I sure hope so.
California has had ample water for drinking and farming in normal years and decent enough reservoir capacity to tide over a few drier seasons.
DO NOT BE FOOLED: there really IS enough water. This “crisis” and the blackbrushing of the agricultural sector is ENTIRELY INVENTED by leftist politicians.
Your close. It’s the spiritual battle that must and I think will be won.
I believe were getting ready for the 3rd, and last, Great Awakening (Luke 14:13).
Never mind all the illegals using water or all the swimming pools and lawns.
Almonds and alfalfa for Arabia.
