A California teenager whose father was believed to have kidnapped her in September 2022 was fatally shot by deputies as she followed their commands, and she didn’t appear to be wearing tactical gear as officials previously claimed, newly released video shows.
...
However, newly released video from the incident doesn't show the teen in tactical gear, and it reveals she was obeying deputies’ instructions to approach them.
...
The sheriff's office also released a belt recording from the deputy closest to Savannah when she got out of the truck. He is heard repeatedly yelling: “Passenger, get out! Passenger, get out!” and “Come here! Come here! Come to me; come to me!”
“Stop! Stop shooting her. He’s in the car!” the deputy shouted. “She’s OK! He’s in the car. Stop!”

Surprised they didn’t shoot each other in this Mexican standoff.

If one cop shot and killed another cop, is the arrested perp charged with murder, a person killed during committimg a crime?
It’s the age old problem of a few bad apples spoil the barrel. Damn shame but it’s a fact of perception. Problem almost invariably starts with leadership at the top and in city departments sadly it’s politics and not merit that fills these positions.
Police are agents of the state. As the state becomes more evil so do the police. Now most governments have strayed far from the founding principles and become more corrupt for it. Police forces reflect that and denying it is just putting your head in the sand.
Oh. So if her Dad had forced her to wear tactical gear it would have been ok to kill her then?
Hi sport!
Yes.
But internal affairs will clear the cop...
Did all the jack booted thugs get home okay?
When’s the last time you got a ticket, cop-hater?
This is why Sheriff Andy made deputy Barney Fife always keep his one bullet in his pocket.
That's the one sentence I completely agree with.
Remember; there are constant trolls, masquerading as Freepers, and YT is FULL of edited, selective, and very RARE occurrences of "police misconduct". They are more-than-happy at YT, to post anti-conservative videos, while stifling TONS of videos that they object to (same as any other OWNED media).
I must live a sheltered life, in my 60 years of DRIVING, to have NEVER been "harassed/intimidated" by a LEO. Just my luck, or "the preponderence of the evidence" of PERSONAL EXPERIENCE?
To a LEGITIMATE complainer, get over it, if you got a ticket or got caught, law-breaking.
The State Sponsored Terrorists in this case were sheriff's deputies ...
In what language?
I'm retired LEO and military and that's not how we were trained. We were trained to fire two rounds to center mass and then make sure the threat was neutralized and the world around us was a safe place. Every weapons platform has what's called a minimum response. That's the number of rounds you're supposed to fire at a threat. When firing a pistol, two rounds was the minimum response. Never during my LE or military training were we ever instructed to do a mag dump. That used to be Hollywood theatrics, but now it's become the standard for so many officers.
I don’t get tickets.
If you don’t see any problems with police shooting at traffic and at each other you should try to buy a few IQ points.
Dear Navy Patriot
you wrote: “In my book, ILLEGALS and anchor babies do not have “Standing”, as U.S. Citizens, and therefore don’t exist. So that would make them enemy invaders......”
When you joined up, you swore to defend the Constitution.
But obviously you never read it.
Some day, try this:
The 14th ammendment states “nor shall any State deprive ANY PERSON of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to ANY PERSON WITHIN ITS JURISDICTION the equal protection of the laws.
Being a merely a “person” means you have essential rights.
Being a “citizen” is not necessary.
Noted.
And this article is from 2016. Standards are probably even lower today with the cops shortages.
“In North Carolina, It takes 1,528 hours to become a licensed barber. The state’s minimum police training requirement is 620 hours.”
https://www.cnn.com/2016/09/28/us/jobs-training-police-trnd/index.html
“I couldn’t believe the number of shots fired.”
Then check out the officer who unloaded a full mag and even claimed he had been shot by an acorn falling on his car.
Fully unprepared for his job.

When the police screw up, they screw up big.
