Howdy, Kathy.
I imagine you’re ready for a breather by now.

I also imagine you’re happy the wind has died down at last.
It came here! LOL

Dang! The wind must be hanging closer to the mountains. Tree branches are barely moving at the airports.
Bummer that it keeps knocking your computer off. :-(

Crazy how different things are between your house and the airports. You aren’t all THAT far away from them.
Weather does some crazy things and here’s a good example.

Good evening, ML...((HUGS))...has your snow all melted?

Be careful when you and Tippy are out.

LOTS of melting here, a little snow overnight, and heavy wind gusts. No more snow on any trees within my line of sight. Couple more days of this and then headed down to the single digits.

A breather would be nice. We got payroll done, but it was a challenge.

My co-worker out in Wasilla...

“Got a weather alert, expecting 6 to 10 inches of snow starting tonight until noon tomorrow.”

And this is the latest for here...

“Special Weather Statement issued February 21 at 4:09PM AKST by NWS Anchorage AK

Another round of strong winds are building this afternoon and will reach peak intensity tonight as a low pressure system moves up Cook Inlet. Expect southeast winds gusting 40 to 60 mph through most of the Anchorage Municipality beginning in the late afternoon. Rain and snow mix to begin by the early evening along, with more of a wet snow expected at higher elevations. In the early evening, winds are expected to start coming down.

Precipitation to continue overnight into the early morning when the precipitation will likely be mostly snowfall due to prolonged, cool southwesterly flow. The timing of the changeover will dictate snow accumulations, with 1 to 3 inches possible at sea level and 4 to 8 inches possible at higher elevations. The addition of snow and below- freezing temperatures to wet roadways may create difficult travel conditions.”

Lovely!! Should stay above freezing til I get home from the office tomorrow.

February 22

Walking in Jesus’ Shoes

Bible in a Year :

Clothe yourselves with compassion.

Colossians 3:12

What would it be like to walk in the shoes of royalty? Angela Kelly, the daughter of a dockworker and nurse, knows. She was also the official dresser for the late Queen Elizabeth for the last two decades of the monarch’s life. One of her responsibilities was to break-in the aging Queen’s new shoes by walking in them around the palace grounds. There was a reason for it: compassion for an elderly woman who sometimes was required to stand for extended periods at ceremonies. Because they wore the same shoe size, Kelly was able to save her some discomfort.

Kelly’s personal touch in her care for Queen Elizabeth makes me think of Paul’s warm encouragement to the church in Colossae (an area in modern Turkey): “clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience” (Colossians 3:12). When our lives are “built on” Jesus (2:7 nlt), we become “God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved” (3:12). He helps us take off our “old self” and “put on the new self” (vv. 9–10)—living out the identity of those who love and forgive others because God has loved and forgiven us (vv. 13–14).

All around us are those who need us to “walk in their shoes” and have compassion for them in the day-to-day challenges of life. When we do, we walk in the shoes (or the sandals) of a humble king—Jesus—who always has compassion for us. .

Reflect & Pray

How has God had compassion for you? Who can you show His love to today?

Thank You, Jesus, for Your forgiveness and love. Help me to receive it, and also to give it away.
