Super Bowl LVIII Black national anthem performance causes stir on social media

Andra Day performed "Lift Every Voice and Sing," known as the Black national anthem, ahead of Super Bowl LVIII and received a rousing ovation from the fans at Allegiant Stadium.

Day was tapped to sing the song last month as part of the NFL’s pregame festivities. Additionally, Reba McEntire sang the national anthem and Post Malone did "America the Beautiful."

As Super Bowl Sunday arrived and Day sang, NFL fans on social media hurled criticism for the league having the Black national anthem performed. It started early in the day and continued.

Someone texted me that RFK Jr’s campaign ran an ad using one of his uncle’s 1960 campaign commercials. I’m not watching the game. Did anyone see it?

I stopped watching NFL football when they said it was ok for their players to take a knee during the national anthem. That disrespects every serviceman who gave the ultimate sacrifice for their ability to be free and to earn multi million dollar salaries.They think they are special, but its just anti American black nationalism.They look like fascists to me. They act like they are still slaves on the Donk plantation instead f being free men.

Let them bite the hand that feeds them billions of dollars a a year, but they get not a red cent from me, and they never will. Bitten once, twice warned. The whole league can GTH for all I care.
