Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley showed confidence in her primary challenge to former President Trump on Monday, saying Trump is “getting nervous” about her rising support in early polls, citing a new ad targeting her.
“Two days ago, Donald Trump denied our surge in New Hampshire existed. Now, he’s running a negative ad against me,” she said on X, formerly Twitter. “Someone’s getting nervous.”
Monday’s ad buy from Make America Great Again Inc. — Trump’s primary supporting PAC — is the first going after Haley directly.
The ad, released Tuesday, slams Haley for appearing to go back on a 2013 South Carolina gubernatorial campaign promise to not raise the gas tax. Her campaign denied that she ever supported raising the South Carolina gas tax while governor.

If she won every vote in NH she would get leas than 30 delegates. She is being pushed by Democrats in NH because they do not have a primary so they will all be out to support anyone other than Trump (Haley). They want him to lose. That’s why her NH support is so high and her national support is less than 10%. The plan is to win NH or come close and let the media push Trump V Haley and say she’s the only alternative to Trump. She will then skip Nevada because she has no support and the media doesn’t have to say Trump beat her by 40% in NV. They’ll play it off as she didn’t compete and that’s the only reason why Trump won. Then off to SC where she has about 25% support. She’ll get a late endorsement from Tim Scott in hopes of riding that to victory. They need two wins before super Tuesday to suggest a real chance that Trump will lose. This is the long shot that they are banking on. If Trump wins NH and IA by double digits they don’t have a shot except for making voting for him illegal. Highly unlikely Tim Scott endorses her if she’s down to Trump in his twp worst states by double digits and if he does Trump is going to primary him. Not worth the risk.
She has the most arrogant personality. The only surge she has is because she and Senunu asked democrats to vote in the primary.
A FOX poll showed Haley losing a point since last month. Now it shows her at 9%.
I doubt a 9%-er has Trump shaking in his boots.
But, it is political rhetoric and Haley has to do/say something to get attention.
