The Department of Education (DOE) has opened an investigation into an incident at a Wisconsin school involving a transgender woman student in a locker room with female students.
The Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty, a conservative law firm, announced this week that it received a letter from the DOE saying that the department's Office of Civil Rights (OCR) was opening an investigation into a complaint it filed earlier this year involving a transgender student who undressed in front of female students in the Sun Prairie Area School District (SPASD). Newsweek reached out to the DOE via email for comment.
"Following the school's failure to sufficiently address the incident, disregard for parents' concerns, and their stonewalling of an open records request, WILL worked alongside parents of the school district to seek an investigation and remedies from the Department of Education under the Biden Administration," the Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty [WILL] said in a press release on Thursday. "The federal government notified WILL that in response to our complaint they are opening an investigation of SPASD."
WILL Deputy Counsel Daniel Lennington told Newsweek on Thursday: "This opening of a formal civil rights investigation is tremendously significant, not only for this case, but as a warning to other schools nationwide that embrace new and untested transgender policies without considering the impact on female students."
According to the WILL, in June, it filed a complaint with the DOE after learning that an 18-year-old transgender woman student undressed in front of four female high school students in a locker room.
"As the girls began to shower, the male student approached them, entered the shower area, announced 'I'm trans, by the way,' and then fully undressed and showered next to the girls," the complaint said.

The fundamental problem with the Sun Prairie Area School District is ... they’re SPASD.
I coulda tried that on a dare back in highschool...but there would have been no hiding the fact that I was “straight”.
A trans girl doesnt mind taking a spot on a team from a real male, the very few that might he able to do so.
A trans girl however, can get pregnant and even being as messed up as she is, still realizes this, and probably won’t put herself in a spot she can get impregnated by teenage males.
Also comsider the hormonal differences. Males have 25-50 times as mmuch testosterone than women do. Males also do not get pregnant, they impregnate. Different things to consider depending on the biological equipment, regardless of what you “feel” in your mind.
There are two basic reasons for people pretending to be the opposite sex.
For men, it’s because they’re sexual deviants and want to shower with girls.
For women, it’s because they believe their severe lack of attractiveness renders them unable to compete with most other women.
Along with the adult transvestite, the adult coach, sports director, principal, and any other administrators who aided and abetted this adult male exposing himself to minor girls needs to be charged, sentenced, and imprisoned as sex offenders.
Sun Prairie is basically Madison...I mean The Peoples Republik of Madistan.
We live in a sick country.
I would love to see a man such as Tyrus, a commentator on Guttfield and world champion wrestler enter a women’s wrestling contest or weight lifting contest and kick their ass without hurting them. Tyrus is a straight libertarian. When he is presented with the winning medal he should take it and award it to the number two real woman and walk off the stage after giving the finger to the judges.

Replace “trans” with “fake” to keep things straight. A trans boy can get pregnant, etc.
It’s confusing. Even more confusing when the trans boy is dating a trans girl.
I was simply using the verbage of the person I was responding to.
The confusion is deliberate. Language and children are the target everyone must comply.

Made a tweak to your thesis, I think it has a lot of merit but form some/many of these girls the root issue is that what they see in the mirror doesn't match what anyone else sees when they look at her. It's a shame really, and it makes them too easily manipulated by people who want to use them in one way or the other (either to take advantage of with sweet words or to co-opt into mutilating themselves on the promise that will make them feel good about themselves finally, all to bolster their own advocacy)

It is happening, and men are clearly uncomfortable with it.
Years ago, I was taking a shower after swimming at a university pool, when in walked a girl pretending to be a man.
She had on a woman's swimming suit, covered by a t-shirt. She proceeded to take a shower alongside the guys, but did not remove her t-shirt or suit.
The other guys were clearly annoyed but didn't say anything. While the men weren't a "threat" to her at the time, things could have easily gotten out of hand.
There have been instances of women in men's facilities being gang raped.
If a single man in a woman's facility is a danger to women, can you imagine what it would be like for a solitary woman in a locker room full of men?
Biological men do not belong in women's facilities, and vice versa!

Something like 60% of girls wanting to be boys are on the spectrum for autism. Lots of girls with OCD and anxiety also get sucked into the trans-cult. Feeling good about themselves for sure.
These girls also are outsiders and long for a group. But many people on the spectrum also have special talents and want to be recognized as special - but weren’t/aren’t.
The trans-cult provides them with a group to belong to, and also a way to be “special” (or at least different) than the “normals”.
Some girls turn trans due to being homophobic - but they like other girls. Some girls were molested by men at a young age and become “boys” to protect against that. Some kids are groomed by their parents (mom?) to be the opposite sex.
It is almost always rooted in a mental disorder, mental trauma, etc. There are some rare biological cases with mal-formed genitals that create problems as well.
Of course the trans-cult doesn’t treat the person’s underlying mental disorder. And most doctors and therapists are not allowed to strip away the trans-facade to get to the real issues. Hence the large number of suicides by trans.
Not because they are trans, but that they were never helped with the real causes of their problems. I suppose some may have regrets and kill themselves, but I don’t think that is the main reason.
