In October, author Tim Sheridan urged people to pick up a copy of his latest work, a Green Lantern re-boot in which the DC superhero has sex with his boyfriend. Despite his pleas, the comic appears to have struggled to gain favor among readers.
On Amazon, the e-book version of the first issue of Alan Scott, Green Lantern currently sits at #277 in superhero comics & graphic novels, and 39,736 among all titles in the Kindle store.
"The only way we can shut these people down is to make this book an undeniable success," Sheridan told his fans in a video announcing the new comic, suggesting "haters and the queerphobes are out in force."
"The only way to prove to the big publishers that there's a huge market for authentic stories about LGBTQIA+ characters and these stories are for everyone is to buy the heck out of books like this," he added, pointing out that he would be donating profits to the Elton John Aids Foundation.

How many, many people fail to acknowledge the entire media system (from movies to mags.) has joined in a concerted effort to “wokify” and turn left our culture is beyond me.
I mean Kathleen Kennedy of Lucas Films actually ADMITTED it after South Park roasted her for it for darn sake!!!
No one is as blind as those who refuse to see.
...’Golden AGE’ of comics...geez.
I’m still buying - but as with you nothing new - only older books.
It’s my guilty pleasure for my nostalgic youth.
I’ve around 60k books, and need about 250 to have everything DC did in the 80s. War and horror books are the hardest to find at a decent price due to their lower print runs.
I need 1 book to have the entire history of the Legion of Super-Heroes which was my favorite series growing up.
The best were the early-mid 70s 100 page DCs - I need 4 of those I think to have all of them. The had new stories, silver age reprints, and golden age reprints all rolled into one.
When will the alphabet soup mob get it through their thick heads that most of us are not interested in learning about their sexual predilections? I don’t have enmity toward them, really, but I certainly don’t want to be a consumer of their byproducts.
Green Lantern always seemed like an alternative kind of dude to me. I never bought his comic books though I thumbed through a few at the store. Anyways he was way down the list back in my comic book days
He wants people to buy his book to make a point? I think most people buy a book because they want to read it. Maybe he found that out, and maybe he will also find out that LGBTQetc. people are not nearly as fascinating to normal people as they are to themselves.
I haven’t purchased a comic book in decades, and I never will again, and it’s because of the perversion that is now prevalent in the comic book industry.
Some Marxist billionaire (Soros) will purchase thousands of this comic and donate them to libraries. It will make the comic a best seller on the New York Slimes list.
This is how they play the game. The same thing happened with Hillary and Chelsea Clinton “books”. Nobody purchases these rags except wealthy publishing agents.
DC keeps destroying its characters.
The sexual weirdo community WISHER we were behind this... better for them than the truth: which is no one in interested in their kink.
The cause is everything. Losing millions is worth it to these fools.
No Green Lantern for me. It was Sgt Rock of Easy Company. With his trusty Thompson submachinegun - “Budda Budda Budda.... Take that you filthy krauts.” “Nothing is easy in Easy Company!!!”
“Man of Steel, Woman of Kleenex”
that was never about superman having sex, it was about what would happen to any poor female who engaged in it with him.
I remember reading it back in the 70s
The Gay people will have the government force Americans to buy their stuff and see their Broke Back Mountain like films.
Read that years ago. It is a classic.
??? Don’t he need a new Oath???
In Bathrooms bright,
Or parks at night,
I’ll bugger twinks
With all my night!
For those who worship
Things perverse -
This is Green Lantern’s
Universe!
Just...stop...
Most comic readers are fairly libertarian. Gay characters, while not super popular, are tolerated.
Taking an established character and CHANGING him...that is a problem.
It doesn’t matter if it is a race swap, a gender swap or making them gay...leave the existing characters alone.
Nobody except a weirdo picks up a comic book to see a super hero bonking.
