Hillary Clinton visits Sally’s Apizza in New Haven

NEW HAVEN, CT (WFSB) - It’s no secret that New Haven features some of the most acclaimed pizza joints in the country.

Former presidential hopeful and secretary of state Hillary Clinton made some time over the weekend for a stop at one of them.

She posted to her Instagram that she was in town for a law school reunion and stopped at Sally’s Apizza.

Been to Coal House Pizza in Stamford
and have been told Sally’s is great..
with the Neapolitan/apizza/New Haven style

Since I lived just outside of New Haven, I’ve been to Sally’s many times. Really good crusty pizza. Always very busy. I washed it down with a PBR.

I always thought the best pizza was in New Jersey and New York.

Of course, I’m in the Midwest - the land of Domino’s, Pizza Hut, Papa Johns, etc.

Many regions seem to have their favorites, such as New York Style, New Haven style, Detroit style, Chicago style deep dish, and others.

I’ve heard of all of these, but don’t know what the distinctions or unique attributes of these different pizzas are.
