Relations between Kazakhstan and Russia, have deteriorated since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine began in February 2022...
"Kazakhstan has unambiguously stated that it will follow the sanctions regime," Tokayev said following talks during an official visit to Berlin to meet German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
Timothy Ash, an economist and associate fellow in the Russia and Eurasia program at British think tank Chatham House, said the statement was significant and shows Moscow is losing influence.
"Wow, huge move. Just shows weakening grip across region of Russia because of Putin's idiotic invasion of Ukraine. He lost Armenia in recent weeks on Russia's inability to help in [Nagorno-Karabakh]," he said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter...
Tension has also mounted between Armenia and Russia, which have long been close allies. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said this month that Putin failed to support his country amid clashes with neighboring Azerbaijan.
Kremlin propagandist Margarita Simonyan, the editor-in-chief of the Russian state-controlled media organization RT, acknowledged on state TV earlier this month that Russia has no allies in the war launched by Putin.
Simonyan said Russia is waging the "most difficult ... toughest and generally unprecedented war in our history."
"It is the most difficult and the toughest because it is the first war in our history in which we have no allies at all," Simonyan said.
She then said that actually Russia has "one ally in this war, Belarus."
"But it's hard to call it an ally, because it is us," said Simonyan...

Neighbor and ex-victim of Muskovite imperialism.
Britain gave up its’ empire, and has never even tried to take any of it back. But not Moscow.
Seems to me that if it weren’t for the US and other countries fighting Russia by supplying arms to the Ukraine, this conflict would have been over a long time ago.
Yeah, I’m sure Russia is going to cry in their vodka over this.
Putin invaded Ukraine because he didn't want this BS next-door to him, if he really wanted to he could have leveled Ukraine on Day 2. He has given Ukraine numerous chances to surrender.
Newsweak, like Meta, Alphabet and Amazon, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the CIA.
Never a dead or maimed Ukie in her little CIA World.
Yes, if NATO weren’t helping Ukraine then Russia would have conquered Ukraine and would currently be incorporating its assets, geography, and population into its future plans for NATO.
Spewing Russian propaganda again.
More coming out regarding just how much the Canadian Government LOVED the World War 2 Nazis.
They really do seem to have a FASCISM problem - which may explain their treatment of the Truckers during their Covid Protests.
“Seems to me that if it weren’t for the US and other countries fighting Russia by supplying arms to the Ukraine, this conflict would have been over a long time ago.”
then Russia would win rearm and invade another country and sstart another war.
So much for recreating the USSR.
That’s true. The Russians would have slaughtered the Ukrainians but for the Wests help. But it would be the same number of Ukrainians dead, eventually and Putin would have the territory he wanted to take.
As it it, the main difference is there are probably 5 Russians dead for every Ukrainian and Russia is teetering on revolution.
I don’t expect the Russians to be expelled from hardened positions.
Eventually someone will get tired of Putin and kill him.
His successor will come to power promising withdrawal.

Wonder why Isabel Van Brugen failed to mention that the Color Revolution princess, Samantha Power, was just in Armenia, stirring the neocon pot...
After the continuous string of war crimes against the citizens of the Donbass plus much more, yeah the Nazis is Keeyev are rightfully quaking in their boots about the de-nazification the Russians are going to execute in Western Ukraine. And about time too.
Everything the western media spews is propaganda, and you sophomores lap it up. You say you don’t believe the lying press but then you do. We are the bad guys in this thing, hate to break it to you.
“It is the most difficult and the toughest because it is the first war in our history in which we have no allies at all,” Simonyan said.”
LOL too bad you can’t think. Why? Why don’t you have ANY allies at all?
think Simonyan
one reason could be that invading Ukraine was wrong, an evil act and no one supports you in your evil.
Get out of Ukraine!
nope, not unless forced, they’ve learned some lessons from history, unlike fat bottomed westerners.
