Seems to me that if it weren’t for the US and other countries fighting Russia by supplying arms to the Ukraine, this conflict would have been over a long time ago.

That's precisely why this stupid war has lingered for so long. Because D.C. needs to keep the corruption pipelines open and to protect Biden. And these pro-Ukrainian hacks here don't care.
Putin invaded Ukraine because he didn't want this BS next-door to him, if he really wanted to he could have leveled Ukraine on Day 2. He has given Ukraine numerous chances to surrender.

Yes, if NATO weren’t helping Ukraine then Russia would have conquered Ukraine and would currently be incorporating its assets, geography, and population into its future plans for NATO.
