Former New York State Assemblyman Dov Hikind, a lifelong Democrat and activist against antisemitism, has officially changed his party registration to Republican — as has his wife, he announced on Thursday morning.
Hikind made the revelation on Twitter:
IT’S OFFICIAL: My wife and I have switched our party affiliation from Democrat to Republican!
Ppl have long been asking, “Dov, when are you gonna leave the Democratic Party?”
Well, the time has come bc the Dems have turned their back on Jews & Israel, so it’s officially done! pic.twitter.com/VAlGaaALDO

Took him a long time to realize what the rest of us have known for decades.
I hope it’s the start of a trend.
I also hope he leave socialism behind, instead of trying to make the Republican party into Democrat-lite.
Biden helped do that.
Now he will get hate mail......................
I guess he finally figured out that that Somali dame from Minnesota is now the “mainstream” of the Rat Party.
It’s too late for NYC
Yup...and ten bucks says that the word “Nazi” will feature prominently in all of them.
I want to hear them call him an Anti-Semite.
He might have been officially a Dem but he has been endorsing Republicans since the 90s.
I’ve never trusted losers like this.
<p?
It’s easy for the guy to change his party registration when he’s retired from politics.
Hikind was a Democrat state assemblyman until a few years ago, but through the years his endorsements have included GWB, McCain, Romney and Trump for President; Pataki and Zelden for Governor. As a Democrat his district voted nearly 70% for Trump. Unfortunately we have few elected officials who cross party lines, virtually none on a national level. Manchin the closest. Romney and Cheney as well. And yes, some of those GOP candidates are unpopular on FR, perhaps all other than Trump, but none the less they were cross party endorsements.
If he really wants to make a difference, how about he remains a Democrat but remains a rock in the shoe of the democrats.
Instead, we’re most likely getting another RINO. No thanks.
He will now be declared “white-supremacy adjacent” or something similar.
When someone announces a change such as this, it can lead to discussions with friends and neighbors who say, “I’ve been feeling the same and wondering if I should make that switch as well”. It may just give others the courage to follow his lead.
Of course his change has absolutely nothing to do with what is best for USA. It’s always best interest for some other country.

I met with Dov Hikind many times when I was a legislative counsel in Albany in the 1980s. He was mostly conservative back then, and one of his staff told me that he was a democrat because he couldn’t win running in his district as a republican.
Not really news as he has been supporting Republicans for decades
And, that is what many conservatives should do...run as Dems. As I have said...campaign like a lib..govern as a conservative
I trust RATs who switch to Pubbie about as much as I trust kalifornians who move to a civilized state. But that’s just me.
