Kudo to KGW-TV for doing a story about those who wish to flee Portland but can’t as they find it is extremely difficult to sell their homes. KGW-TV reports, “A ‘for sale’ sign hangs outside a modest home in Southeast Portland. Across the street is a homeless camp where people struggle with their addictions to fentanyl…“Since June 1 there’s been a camp on my corner, so the showings have been canceled … Some don’t want to get out of their car or even come to the door,” she said. Susie said she even dropped the price by $15,000…”
This is so tragic.
People come to look at the house and the potential buyers won’t leave their car for fear of the homeless camp in the street.

Who the heck wants to move to Portland?
Northwest Portland is the nicest part. Although I wonder how nice it still is?
Apparently the leftists were successful in their effort to “Keep Portland Weird!”
Well, if you voted for it, enjoy the suck. Or, you can see what legal alternatives are available to recall the scum that sits in your Mayor’s office, and his cohorts, and elect those people with spines that will do the right thing.I won’t hold my breath.....
I feel bad for the conservatives who are still there but am glad the libs are stuck. They are so stupid that they never saw this coming and deserve all of it.
Time to sue the city.
About a decade ago, I considered doing like many Angelinos, and leaving L.A. for Seattle or Portland. But I stayed in L.A.
When a potential buyer won’t even get out of their car or roll the windows down, that’s not a good sign that they are ‘Ready To Buy’.
The present owners may be tied to their homes in this ruined neighborhood until someone buys. If these owners left the house as is and simply moved elsewhere, wouldn’t they still be responsible for the property taxes, whether they resided there or not? That’s bad and sad.
Welcome to Liberalville.
Immune are the bureaucrats empires. The Washington DC Beltway, Martha's Vineyard, Newport RI, Vail, and Hawaii.
Frankly, I want them to stay there. Don’t want liberals to spread their contagion!
Make them clean up their own mess or learn to live with it.
Purchasing real estate (or establishing a business) in a blue city or state, one is just asking for trouble.
Elections have consequences.
Knew this was coming after the events of 2020
Better make that a $50,000 price drop ... toss in a box of grenades with it.
I am very surprised that we haven’t seen Neighborhood Protection Committees that mysteriously show up and clear out homeless camps through heavy violence in the dead of night. They come and they go. No one even gets a chance to thank the mysterious strangers.
File under, “getting what you vote for”
