Biden’s cold war: Anti-air conditioner regulations keep piling up
Fox News ^ | 05/02/2023 | Ben Lieberman

Listen to this article 0:00 / 3:36 1X BeyondWords Think Biden administration regulators have it in for gas stoves? Just wait until you learn what they have in store for air conditioners. In fact, many homeowners are already finding out first hand. It’s all part of team Biden’s prioritization of climate change policy over the interests of consumers.

Now that air conditioning season is commencing across most of America, nearly 100 million homeowners are turning on their systems for the first time since last summer, hoping they get cold air. Those that don’t will need repairs, which may require replacing refrigerant that has leaked out of the system.

Unfortunately, new Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations are limiting supplies of these refrigerants – the result of a law targeting them as contributors to climate change. The production quotas have driven up their price about three-fold, and a recharge may cost $100 to $500 more than before these provisions took effect, depending on how much replacement refrigerant is needed.

“Why post from (yellow) Fox News and give them money? “

Maybe JimRob can ‘block’ Fox News links. Just like the others that sue FR.

“Take gas heat and air conditioning out of DC for a decade, “

You don’t want that. The deep state will spend all their time in the Public Baths. Eeewe.

Every American should have cheap enough electricity to be comfortable in their home or apartment.

This isn’t the dark ages, setting the thermostat at 72 should be no more a thought than turning on the faucet.

In my case, it is window units and space heaters but the same principle, modern man should not be cold in the winter and hot in the summer, this is the 21st century for God’s sake, in America.

Global warming was the idea spawned by Maurice Strong, a lose buddy of George Soros, precisely for the reason we’re seeing it being used as a control mechanism against the masses who. Global warming is not settled science, it’s only a theory. Making laws and regulations based solely on a theory is nothing more than tyrannical thuggery!

It won’t make any difference if we serfs are sweltering due to lack of air conditioning, as the Biden caused electric blackouts wouldn’t allow us to use it even if we had air conditioning. Don’t think for a minute that the liberal elites will be breaking a sweat in their mansions which will be fully air conditioned. The Green New Deal will have the serfs living like their great grandparents did, without electricity.

South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas. And ALL of the Central Plains. They just “think” they are penalizing their Red State enemies.

They just won’t leave refrigerants alone. There’s already been 2-3 recent changes. R134a is out now. The next step is to refrigerants that are somewhat flammable.

“What’s the problem? They are electric devices”

It’s the refrigerant in them. In the old days R12 was king but supposedly when it leaks into the atmosphere it goes up and messes up the ozone layer. Now all new units use a more politically acceptable refrigerant but the Fox article didn’t go into that since technical information is over their audience’s head.

The older refrigerants have become very expensive so older units can be expensive to recharge.

You are 100% correct.

Shut the GD power off for a couple weeks and see how they react though. Shut the cell towers down for a couple weeks and see what happens.

BTW..they are transplanting from Kalipornicate to here and most of those people are the most arrogant bastards I have ever seen.

All I can say is, welcome to what you never conceived as possible in a sane world.

That can only mean one thing that you also didn’t contemplate.

And if the refrigerant is c34 or something no one keeps it any more. I had to buy my own on ebay swear i was just a retailer then find a guy to sell it to and then he is certified to put it in. even tho i could do it have done it with boat refrigerant and car air conditioners. And now there is a new refrigerant that is required. So then i wanted a radiant barrier in the attic to help reduce the temps so the air conditioner would work as hard. No one will install it. So i bought “radiant guard” and just finished the install after crawling around in the attic for a week. I’m 70 and luckily can still do this stuff. but i pity the people who have to pay $100,000 for a car, $500,000 for a house, and $20,000 a year in property taxes. then food and heating oil/gas etc etc. Then they vote democrat so the politicians can continue to try to kill them.

Last week we had overnight lows of +25F. Yup, the natural gas fired forced air heater kept the house comfortable. On Sunday afternoon, the outdoor temperature reached 85. The inside of the house was at 84. The "snow dogs" were very uncomfortable. The air-conditioner was started to alleviate the heat for the pets. It's off again. It's common to have subfreezing nights and extra warm days in the Spring in southeast Idaho. The lawn got mowed on May 1st as well. First time since September. Rain is coming over the weekend, so we probably won't open the main valve to allow the sprinklers to run. We just barely melted off the Winter snow.

Be nice if there were some way to force libs to live like thus while the rest of us live normally. Unfortunately, any change that benefits us benefits them.>>> There actually is. It is called the constitution and right now 99% of what washington does in not constitutional. If the states would just say no there isn’t much they can do.

Repubs should use Congressional Review Act to overturn these noxious regulations yesterday! Where’s the leadership? How about the new higher mortgage rates for better credit scores? Country is on a ventilator.

This is a made in 1966 video black and white by Periscope Film about Communist denying they are Communist and how they influence the unknowing population. 45 minutes.
Includes USA. Step One: Divide the people over anything and everything you can.
I do not remember how to start a thread or would. It’s excellent and you can simply change it to today’s date, it parallels. Educational for students.
