Nearly one in five adults in the US say they have a relative who was killed by a gun, a disturbing new study revealed Tuesday.
The troubling statistic included death by suicide, according to the report from the Kaiser Family Foundation.
A similar amount – 21 percent – of respondents said they had been personally threatened with a gun.
The study also found that people of color were disproportionately impacted by gun violence, with three in 10 black adults and one-fifth of Hispanic respondents saying they have witnessed someone being shot.
Thirty-four percent of black adults reported having a family member who was killed by a firearm, or two times the share of white adults who said the same.

I’m not buying into this, either.
The same one in five US adults have killed someone else’s family member.
I agree. What bs
But it will be used as fact by gun control wackos
In my entire life I have never met or know anyone killed by a gun or threatened by a gun.
I guess I must be hanging out in the wrong places.
;-)
What's not to believe. They only polled Democratic strongholds in large cities.
None in my family.
Nor any others that I know...................
Well, there’s your answer......................
Well that sounds about right considering the black population of America and their love for violent crime. Plus are they counting “suicide” ? Seems unfair since the person would have probably offed themselves some other way …and now we are suppose to support “end of life” care.
Not unimaginable
when criminals have easy access to guns
( zero restriction by laws )
and
Citizens don’t
( infringed by thousands of laws)
2+2=4 always.
What an unmitigated pile of bullshit.
bullcr@p
And no
No one in my life
No one I’ve ever known
Has had a family member die by gun
“The study also found that people of color were disproportionately impacted by gun violence, with three in 10 black adults and one-fifth of Hispanic respondents saying they have witnessed someone being shot”
That’s not surprising, given how welfare dependency, illiteracy, drug abuse, fatherless families, and other related things play that kind of role in African American culture and society (as well as Hispanic to a smaller extent).
Americans who are black probably account for half of the stat. And the killers will be high 80s to low 90s percent black. Many of those will be gang related.
They have to include suicide to get their shocking numbers.
Take suicide out of the equation and you’ll find that very few white people have a family member killed by gun violence while the black numbers will more or less stay the same.
If it’s true....unlikely,IMO...it’s gotta be 9 out of 10 blacks and 8 out of 10 Hispanics.
Nope. I don’t know what fake statistics they are using to come up with this BS, but nope.
Unless they are only surveying the inner city, in which case, it would likely be higher.
Damn Olivia. It’s a good thing you weren’t around during the Civil War, WWI or WWII. Nice mathematical problem though.
My cousin was shot and killed 20 some years ago.
