Peacetime senior military leaders are political pole climbers, not warriors. In the event of war, it is the common soldier who suffers most their incompetence.
This has always been the case in history. Few Patton’s out there—they do not survive well in peacetime. But, If and when we face off against Russia/China we are going to need them—Looking at the Joint Chiefs and past records it might be a good time to learn to speak Mandarin or Russian.
The demented pedophile who abandoned Afghanistan (along with thousands of personnel and $85,000,000,000 of materiel) in the middle of the night is conducting a war with Russia.
And the Soros stooges think it’s great.
Def Sec Austin Lardbutt should just go sit on the Wagner Group Guy, while Joint Chief Millie does a little victory dance. If they can’t handle it, bring in Rear Admiral Transfaggot Levine and Lt. Col Pillsbury Doughboy Vindman (ret.) to bring them to their knees. What a clown show. US needs a clean slate.
Zeepers will be here soon to attack Johnson because all they can do is attack the messenger not what the message is
No doubt that our military and intelligence upper echelon is completely incompetent, that aside, this is a remarkable piece of Russian propaganda.
Austin and Milley are two first class stooges. They are are a disgrace and an embarrassment. I can’t believe there are still former military out there who supports those clowns.
Facts are not propaganda. Ukraine would be totally in Russian hands without all the money and weapons sent by the west.
Yes, very definitely it is Russian propaganda. But it is as wrong to deliberately worship and trust your own propaganda as it is to deliberately ignore the enemy’s propaganda.
And, in today’s world, one enemy is as deep inside Washington as it is in Moscow. Another is in Peking. Another in Iran.
Yes, very definitely it is Russian propaganda. Full stop.

Well, we sure as heck are not depleted on HIMARS. So far we’ve delivered under 5% of our HIMARS inventory (counted prior to any being sent to Ukraine, so far as I can tell), less than half of receipts from Lockheed-Martin in 2022, and MAYBE* a quarter of LM’s 2022 production (being ramped up to ~double US receipts in 2023.)
The ONLY explanation at this point to Ukraine not having 60+ operating HIMARS systems is squishy US leadership. “Fail!” by the reporters for not pressing on that one...
*Figures in the press tend to ignore deliveries to other customers, only quoting production for the US. An exact number for actual total production seems near impossible to come up with.
I will agree that Austin in particular just dances around and euphemizes instead of answering what were actually some other good questions by reporters. Such as what to do about a rumored (impending) large scale Russian aircraft attack (likely following attacks to severely degrade Ukraine’s AD system in a focused area.)
Nice try.
“failed to defeat a bunch of goat herders”
You can’t really “defeat” an insurgency that has the general support of the local population, as the Russians themselves found out in Afghanistan and as they will find out again if they do get their wish and manage to defeat Ukraine.
Self awareness is evaporating in this country. Just look at the freaks with tattoos and piercings.

That’s like saying the big bully would have beaten up the skinny nerd, if he didn’t eat better, learn MMA and beat the bully down.
You also can't do it without any leadership or will. Karzai was a joke, Biden a bigger joke.
In the case of Ukraine, Pooty seems to have the will, and appears to be trying to drive out most of the population. This was successful in Syria, but in Ukraine, we (well, they) are almost through winter and wrecking the grid, etc., doesn't seem to have had the desired effect. Not that many Ukrainians, especially potential fighters, have fled in the last few months.
