This year’s Super Bowl will feature the singing of Lift Every Voice and Sing, otherwise known as the black national anthem, before the start of this year’s game.
The song will be sung before the U.S. national anthem.
According to Mashable, “If the Super Bowl is your introduction to national treasure Sheryl Lee Ralph, welcome. The veteran singer-actress is set to take the Super Bowl stage Sunday to perform what is known as the Black national anthem, “Lift Every Voice and Sing.” She’s joined by country singer Chris Stapleton singing the national anthem and R&B star Babyface performing “America the Beautiful.'”

They’ve got a lot of staying power because they have a lot of money. I haven’t watched a pro sport in 4 or 5 years now.
Of the sport fans I know I am very much a minority. People tell me it’s my attitude; I’m the one mixing politics with sports! American sport fans don’t seem to care about how much they’re publicly held contempt by the owners and players - Got to have the “sports fix”!
I’m done with it, I have other things to do.
‘Race’ is NOT recorded on a Certified Birth Certificate.
Yup—American white sports fans are like Jews lining up to watch the 1936 Berlin Olympics.
They want American money to pay them “reparations” while claiming not to be Americans.
Massa Lib is da boss down on da plantation. Dats why dey stay on da plantation so da massa ken think fer dem.
The black nation is Liberia.
You forget about Maple Surple?
I had to replace on after 8 years, wouldn't want to be with out one anymore.
Going over to my brother’s place for a Super Bowl party.
Sounds like it’s going to be another groan-fest.
There’s nothing that attracts me to football any longer.
Geebus... Jim crow again??? Why do they only teach the bad stuff from history. And not the good stuff.. like how the USA led the world in abolishings slavery??? Some people actually believe it was INVENTED here...
Why?
The NFL doesn't give a rap if you watch the game or not because they don't know if you're watching it or not.
It's the League's advertisers that DO give a rap !
Make a list of some of the advertising corporations, companies and organizations (doesn't have to be all)...look up their addies...and bombard them with messages about you and your family boycotting their brands and/or not purchasing their products and/or not donating to them....and tell 'em why !
Hit 'em in the pocketbook !

Same here.
Or, you know, just relax. I mean we had Old Ragged Flag, and Lift All Voices, and America the Beautiful. Really, it’s just not that big a deal. People whine too much.
And I truly can’t believe Goodell allowed such blasphemy to be featured during the NFL’s premier event./s
I feel like I’m watching BET.
Do you have a problem with the actual song, or just what they are calling it here?
...And did they sing it right?
the “black ‘national anthem’” is just a fiction dreamed up by racists — black racists obsessed with race to be precise — to divide the citizens of our Republic.
Lift every voice and sing
Till earth and Heaven ring
Ring with the harmonies of Liberty;
Let our rejoicing rise,
High as The list’ning skies,
let it resound loud as the Rolling sea
Sing a song
full of faith that the Dark past has taught us,
Sing a song
full of The hope that the present has brought Us;
Facing the rising sun
of our new day Begun,
Let us march on till victory is Won.
Stony the road we trod,
Bitter the Chast’ning rod,
Felt in the day that hope
Unborn had died;
Yet with a steady Beat,
Have not our weary feet,
Come to the Place on which our fathers sighed?
We have Come
over a way that with tears has been Watered,
We have come,
treading our path Through the blood of the slaughtered,
Out from The gloomy past,
till now we stand at Last
Where the white gleam
of our star is Cast.
God of our weary years,
God of Our silent tears,
Thou who has brought us thus
Far on the way;
Thou who has by thy Might,
Led us into the light,
Keep us Forever in the path, we pray
Lest our feet
Stray from the places, our God, where we met Thee,
Least our hearts,
drunk with the wine of The world, we forget thee,
Shadowed beneath the Hand,
May we forever stand,
True to our God,
True to our native land
Yep. This, unlike Kwanza, is a real American song.
No principled person should pay any attention to the Nazi Felons League.
