BAYVILLE, New Jersey — The heartbroken boyfriend of bullied New Jersey teen Adriana Kuch can’t stop crying and re-watching an online video of the cruel attack that led to her suicide, his mom and Adriana’s dad told The Post on Friday.
Jason Lopez, 16, is haunted by the thought he might have been able to prevent Adriana, 14, from taking her own life after the humiliating beating she suffered at Central Regional High School in Berkeley Township, said a worried Wendy Lopez, 50.
“He’ll wake up in the middle of the night screaming and crying,” Lopez told The Post, adding he feels a devastating spiral of grief and guilt.
“[Adriana] called him the night before [her death] and he wished that he picked up the phone and he didn’t,” Lopez recounted.
“He called her back five minutes later and she never called back..That’s the last time [they spoke].,” she added.
The young lovebirds had been dating for nearly two months when Kuch was brutally bullied as the pair walked down a hallway on campus Feb. 1.
A video of the attack was later posted online, further tormenting the teen, and she took her own life two days later.
“[Jason] said to me that it would have been nice to grow up when me and his father did in the 80s and 90s, when you don’t have this extra online stuff to go along with being in high school,” Lopez told The Post.
“He just wished Adriana had told him more because she kinda kept it all to herself.”

Or, we get Paul Kersey in the movie Death Wish
Unless you are a black belt or a pro MMA, there is only so much one person can do to protect somebody from multiple attackers.
It’s so heartbreaking to watch repeatedly those who are devastated by evil acts receive no justice.
Lord of the Flies. And it has nothing to do with race.
There needs to be a wave of firings of administrators and teachers at district and school level who created the environment that resulted in this chain of events happening.
There needs to be a wave of death penalties without plea bargaining.
Sadly, they are fine with it. Until their own ox is gored.
The net effect of this is learned helplessnes and dehumanization of others. We are in grave danger as a society. So many brainwashed, lost souls.
“...it would have been nice to grow up when me and his father did in the 80s and 90s, when you don’t have this extra online stuff to go along with being in high school,”
This is not good for anyone.
That’s the problem in society today. Everything is geared towards delaying the growing up process.
Stun Gun and Mace
But in a way kids are growing up faster than ever before with technology and the indoctrination at school and media. Kids can’t just be kids anymore. Who would have thought 20 years ago that someday 5-10 year old kids would be changing their gender?
Back then we were raised by our parents and our neighbors. (You screwed up a few blocks from home, your mom knew about it before you could pedal home.)
Now kids are raised by computers/cell phones.
This ain’t gonna end well.
IMHO, they will regret putsching for what they’ve asked for..
That part does not fit the narrative. Hence it is never to be mentioned.
I see zero evidence that what should happen will ever happen.
That was no bullying, that was flat out felonious assault.
‘Anti-Bullying’ has been used to inflict actual political and ideological bullying on children, while at the same time the schools are allowing actual assaults, or as here, suspending the victims (there are other articles reporting Kuch was suspended for fighting after being beaten, though non-specific whether it was this time or a previous time).
The tormented teen was driven to suicide because she was embarrassed footage of the beatdown spread rapidly on TikTok and Snapchat, Kuch told The Daily Mail.
“She was so embarrassed that they jumped her. She would say, ‘I don’t want to be made fun of,’” he told the outlet.
“It was like she was attacked twice. It used to be you’d go to school, get bullied and then you left. But now you come home and you keep getting bullied — they still keep picking at you home,” he said.
One of the teenage girls responsible for the bloody on-campus beating Feb. 1 continues to churn out disrespectful social media posts even after Adriana’s heartbreaking death, Kuch told The Post..
“[She] has still been posting stuff even after Adrianna’s death on Snapchap,” hesaid, the bullies’ parents should put an end to the tech-based torture.
Central students and families say that Kuch is not the only victim of bullying. Last April, a student was jumped in the school cafeteria after experiencing an injury that left her unable to fight back, her mother previously told Patch. Others shared similar stories with Patch, claiming they or people they knew were bullied and the district did nothing about it.
The same goes for the four girls involved in the fight, students say. Each received 10 days suspension - including Kuch. But this is not enough for those demanding justice.
“We want them to be prosecuted,” Meredith Demuro, a freshman at the school, said.
