Oregon’s restrictive gun law, Ballot Measure 114, will remain blocked after the Oregon Supreme Court denied a petition to overturn a lower court ruling that temporarily restrained the measure, according to court records.
The justices denied the petition to overturn the measure, saying the decision should remain in the lower courts for now, according to the justices’ opinion. If implemented, the measure would require background checks, firearm training, fingerprint collection and a permit to purchase any firearm.
“Our decision today does not serve as a bar to any future challenge in this court or otherwise on appeal. Rather, at this juncture, and given our understanding that the trial court is proceeding as expeditiously as possible to resolve the issues that the parties have presented, we have determined that we should decline to exercise our manda-mus discretion at this time,” the justices wrote in the opinion

They don’t like the logic I guess.
The people shall have the right to bear arms for the defence [sic] of themselves, and the State, but the Military shall be kept in strict subordination to the civil power[.]
This is the wording in the Oregon Constitution per Section 27.
If this monstrosity isn’t killed in the Oregon courts, we might as well burn or abolish the Oregon Constitution because it’ll be a meaningless document.

I live in Southern Oregon and it’s a redneck, gun-owning, rural area where open carry is common and tons of people have concealed weapons permits.
We wouldn’t be out of place in the Ozarks or Eastern Kentucky.

Sounds like the Oregonians are going to need to send in their Auntie Teefer villains to make their Supreme Court an offer they can’t refuse.

I bought a pistol a week ago and the background check had over 10,000 people ahead of me, used to be instant not anymore. The dealer said it would be at least 2 weeks to process the background check, still waiting for him to call.
