The Federal Aviation Administration has closed airspace in parts of North Carolina and South Carolina. All operations at Charleston, Myrtle Beach and Wilmington airports have been paused for national security initiatives.
The alerts are in effect until 2:45 p.m.
The balloon was spotted Saturday over parts of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Northern Greenville county in South Carolina.

No, this is all just theater to make it look like the Biden government...which has actually known all about the balloon since it left China about 10 days ago...is doing something.
Shooting it down is not only nearly impossible but meaningless, since the balloon has already done its work, it takes about a week for a balloon to deflate, and at this point we apparently (according to other posters) don’t have anything that could get to balloon height.
In any case, I don’t think it’s an immediate attack threat. It’s obviously surveillance and reconnaissance, and Biden is bought and sold to the Chinese so he doesn’t care. No other President or administration would have allowed this.

Why use something as complicated as a balloon to send biological weapons into the US when you can just include them in the next shipment of fentanyl?

Why would they spend the resources for that? They already own the U.S. government, they bought it on the open market. And if they wanted to invade, just contact the Mexican cartels that control the southern border, they can just walk the invasion force in.
