House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) said after a meeting with President Joe Biden that he is optimistic that Democrats and Republicans can find “common ground” on the debt limit and spending.
McCarthy said he and Biden had a “good first meeting,” and they shared their opposing opinions on how to raise the debt limit.
We promised we would continue the conversation and we’ll see if we can get there. I think that at the end of the day, we can find common ground.” McCarthy said, adding that he and Biden will continue negotiating on potential compromises on the debt ceiling.

Reports said when George H.W. Bush met with Dems behind closed doors they assured him he could trust them to say they all agreed together that the new tax raising compromise was needed. He would give up his “no new taxes” pledge and they would stand with him.
They sent him out and later said “We never agreed to that. It was his idea to raise taxes all along and we tried to stop him.”
I would almost rather hear that they were butting heads and agreeing on nothing, at least at this point in negotiations.
Biden is never ‘happy’ unless he gets everything he wants, when and how he wants it.
Only if the GOP concedes, as usual.
Offer Biden 10% of every cut in spending. Terms he knows and is comfortable with.

McCarthy: I remember I was at that fancy restaurant with all the high priced dishes and these women there looked like cover girl models and then the wine I drank tasted funny and then I felt really dizzy and woozy like I never have before. Needed to get some sleep. I woke up and reporters told me I had agreed to all the Democrats’ demands and more.
Start defunding Democrat efforts to turn this nation into a
Democracy.
That should remove most of our deficit spending. /s

There is NO “common ground” with communists bent on destroying America. None. None on any topic.
No you cannot. There is no common ground to find with a person who already said they won’t compromise.
Bipartisan means Republicans give Dems everything they want.
Kevin McCarthy demonstrated steel balls for approximately 3 weeks which is 3 weeks more than I thought possible. Now, it’s back to Full Swamp.
