The film’s armorer will face the same charge. A cinematographer was killed when a gun Baldwin was rehearsing with went off. There was not supposed to be live ammunition on the set.

True conservatives will refrain from projecting Alec Baldwin guilty simply because we rightly find his politics repugnant.

Innocent until proven guilty. That said, I personally think he contributed to these charges being filed. He should have expressed nothing but remorse and compassion, and kept a low profile. He's been anything but that. Being public on social media, asking people to help your wife to reach 1 million followers, doesn't do a whole lot to make people sympathetic.

I’m shocked that Baldwin was charged with anything. His arrogance, public blather, and refusal to accept any responsibility must have really aggravated the prosecutor.

Generally agree - though our politcal opponants are now becoming criminals by vitue of their existence... not umlike the Bolsheviks and Nazis.

I will not, however, refrain from projecting him guitly of putting his booger-picker on his trigger - while pointing a gun at another human being.

I believe the armorer 100%...There is a gap from when she laid down the gun on the table and it was handed off to Baldwin by the next person...who yelled Cold gun...without checking it.

Alec's first duty is to check the chambers. He should have pulled each shell...see that it rattled and replace it. The same with the party who handed it off.

Either one could have slipped in a real shell.

The armorer...sorry....I believe her. Her father was top of the line. She wouldn't disgrace him for all the fame or money in the world. I don't think she should be charged UNLESS her prints are on the casing that killed the lady.

He said the gun fired by itself.

The FBI (yeah, I know) stated the firearm worked as it should have and did not suffer a malfunction. He had to have pulled the trigger for it to fire.

It was premeditated murder.

Oddly enough, in spite of my admittedly biased opinion of Alec Baldwin, I do not believe the killing was premeditated or a murder.

It looks more like a wealthy and powerful person being an obnoxious jackass. Happens all the time. Oops! This time his actions killed somebody. Maybe the lawyers can fix that.

This time - maybe not.

Look for him to skip the country.
There is a reason he suddenly decided to move to Vermont.

The film co tried to save money and cut major corners. If you read the emails between the armorer and other people involved in the movie, you would know the armorer was begging for people to attend a safety class and wanted to spend more time on the weapons rather than the props she was asked to take care of and was denied.

And people who are familiar with guns know you NEVER point a gun at anyone and ALWAYS assume a gun is loaded.

How nice for you to give a pass to a pompous, arrogant, remorseless man who shot a young mother, blamed her for her own death and walked away from her while she lay dying in a puddle of blood.

“ Baldwin picked up the casing..”

I thought the firearm involved was a revolver. If so the shells should have remained in the cylinder.

New Mexico statute:  Involuntary manslaughter consists of manslaughter committed in the commission of an unlawful act not amounting to felony, or in the commission of a lawful act which might produce death in an unlawful manner or without due caution and circumspection.

The movie RUST is about someone who accidently kills someone and is on the run. Just rattles my brain.

Actors need gun safety cetifications. Most of them these days are stoopid.

I wonder what’s in store for the armorer?

Blast shield on the camera.

None on the people behind the camera.

Discuss.

Obviously a very, very tragic accident, for all involved. Very unfortunate. I despise Baldwin for his politics, but I do enjoy some of his acting. I do find it somewhat interesting that it happened to such an anti-gun nut.

I feel it does highlight the hypocrisy of the left and the anti-gun movement, where someone is so anti-gun, until it comes to making his living. Nonetheless, I believe the charges were just, and I say let him have his day in court. I doubt he will see the inside of a jail cell, quite frankly. Then again, I didn't see him facing any charges, either.
