the critical issue for 2023 will be the survival of our monetary system...

The critical issue for 2023 will be the collapse of fiat bankstering, and the FED horse it rode into town on.

Fixing some rules changes is a big deal and can prevent the uniparty dual money grab at year end.

With the fox McConnell in one hen house, and fox McCarthy in the other hen house, the hens are all proper screwed. You think you'll be happy because they threw you a few token rule changes. But you won't be. You'll be a hen under constant threat of two foxes working together against you. The 19 are roosters, and they are trying to do their job to protect you. I applaud them.

If term limits are set as house rule, then it is 1) Constitutional and 2) does not go to Senate or the President for signature.

For example:

Rule xyz - No person, who having already served as a Representative to the House for 12 years, shall be sworn into office.

Term limits are just a way to further entrench the Deep State and K street hood on policy. We say this in California when we went to legislative term limits in the nineties. The voters got further scammed by “top two” move to the general on the false premise it would moderate the people who made it to the general ballot. The only worse reform is rank choice voting which leads to situations like Alaska where most voters chose a Republican but the Democrat got enough second choice votes to win.

I do not trust Kevin. I am losing any trust in the GOP. In fact I think we need a new party.

House rules won’t override the constitution in this matter.

That's not constitutional.

Let’s not pretend he’s caving to the “good guys.” Term limits are a fools journey, the so called “freedom caucus” doesn’t deserve outsized influence and one vote to challenge the speaker instead of five is beyond ridiculous. If you can’t get even 5 out of 435 (or even just the 200+ conference) then there’s no case or cause to remove. It’s asking for chaos and Republicans need to understand they need to show they can be adults in the room and govern rather than squabble like children.

2024 is too important for them to be messy, unfocused and ineffective. They need to show they can be trusted to run things.

I love our enemedia flailing about with words like “caved”!! LOL!

McCai...arthy is a POS. The only thing he is doing, is what politics is all about...compromising when and where it needs to be done.

I do not have an issue with compromise (and the RINOs like McCarthy don’t either), the problem is the RINOs like McCarthy will FIGHT TO THE DEATH against their own party and roll over and bite the pillow for every Democrat demand!!

I do not care if he agrees to every single demand of the 20 or so holding outs...I don’t trust McCarthy to do a dang thing beneficial for Conservative Americans if he gets elected - PERIOD!

This session will be about investigations. Committee chairmen and vice chairmen must have the authority to issue subpoenas without authorization from the Speaker or any Rules or Steering committee. More autonomy needs to spread to the caucus, instead of being concentrated with the Speaker. Freedom Caucus members should get percentage seats on the important committees as a first choice, like 19% of the seats. Seniority should not be the deciding factor on important assignments.

The problem with term limits at the Fed level is that it should be matched with some sort of term limits for a large part of the FedGov employees also. While POTUS and his cabinet folk roll over every few years, many FedGov middle managers are in lifelong jobs and cannot be dislodged under existing Civil Service rules. These folks have set up their fiefdoms and can resist any pressure from an elected rep/sen because they know the pressure will be gone after the next election cycle.

Every non-elected FedGov employee down to about halfway down the E-?? pay scale should be term limited in their job also. This will eliminate the resistance (slow-walking requests, etc) done by upper to middle management may have to the party in power.

I THINK you are misunderstanding. Yes “ONE” member can call for a vote but he/she would have to have the votes to remove the speaker which, barring unusual circumstances, would be unlikely.

The VOTE itself would “normally” take about 15 minutes.
