The Hill predicts DeSantis will beat Trump for nomination

The Hill predicted Sunday that Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis will secure the 2024 GOP presidential nomination with former President Donald Trump as the runner-up contender.

DeSantis was picked as the top candidate for his double-digit reelection during the midterms and what The Hill calls "his embrace of culture war issues and his opposition to COVID-19–related lockdowns."

Explaining why Trump was ranked as the second most likely 2024 nominee, the outlet said: "Trump would have been the runaway favorite had these rankings been drawn up the day before the midterm elections. Since then, virtually everything the president has touched has turned bad."

Trump's controversial dinner with the rapper Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, and nationalist commentator Nick Fuentes, along with what it called a "lackluster" campaign launch are reasons why The Hill predicts the former president may not be the nominee again.

Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz is considered the third-most likely person to be the 2024 presidential nominee, according to The Hill.

Trump and DeSantis have both been considered top contenders in multiple polls, although DeSantis has not launched a formal presidential campaign.

December's Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll showed that nearly twice as many GOP voters would support Trump over DeSantis in the primary. However, a USA Today-Suffolk University poll released days earlier showed 56% of Republicans and Republican-leaning voters supported DeSantis compared to 33% who supported Trump.

If Trump wins the primary, DeSantis voters will get on board. Trump's problem is that he's lost the independent and swing voters who are critical for Republicans to win presidential elections.

DeSantis should run in 2024. But Joe Biden has the backing of the Deep State behind him. And Trump may run on the third party ticket.

“Dittos, After Trumps 2nd term DeSantis will make a Great president”

I wish Trump a long and happy life, but how old will he be at the end of his second term if he gets it?

The mere notion that PDJT would even be bothered with any primary challengers makes my blood boil!!!

After how he proved to be the GOAT POTUS—and considering the merciless harassment he’s endured on behalf of all of us—he has earned the 2024 nomination by acclamation!!!

“Not even Trump ditched the NeverTrumpers.”

Agree with that, but we Trump supporters believe he learned his lesson.

“He doesn’t need to bend the knee to Trump.”

Trump demands total loyalty and DeSantis is not a lap dog. He is his own man.

“The best thing Desantis can do for his political future is to come out and say he’s definitely not running in 2024 and do that soon. “

At the same time announce that he supports Trump 100%.

“You are NOT the only one who will NOT vote for “SAINT RON”, if he ousts Trump in the primary. There are MILLIONS of us and all of those who say otherwise are complete idiots!”

Having a different opinion does not make one an idiot. Name calling does.

“If DeSantis takes the nomination from Trump in an acrimonious primary, I, for one, will not vote for him.”

So which Democrat nominee will you vote for? Crickey!

Not a thing. Just don’t stick it on someone who doesn’t fit your narrative.

And Trump may run on the third party ticket.

Gonna LMAO if Trump runs on a third party ticket and DeSantis still wins.

Probably couldn't happen but still...

Anyhow, if Trump runs on a third party ticket, he'll be soundly defeated and that'll be the end of him. It'll be his legacy.

No, it is not out of the Pelosi playback, it IS PROVEN by the fact that the Globalists and Establisment GOP have poured millions into DeSantis’ campaign Coffers and the Establishment GOP, like Ryan, have stated explicitly that they are supporting DeSantis for POTUS 2024.
