Take care Ma! Looks like Fairbanks in 2014. Big mess.
Oh, my goodness! That’s a lotta snow to have to dig through!

HELLO ALL!
“Twas The Night Before Christmas”...THE CLASSIC OF CLASSICS, AS MUCH AS ST. NICK HIMSELF, OR MISTLETOE, OR EGGNOG. DIDN’T REALIZE IT’S 200 YEARS OLD!!!
NOW, FOR SOMETHING MORE RECENT. THERE ARE MANY WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS MOVIES, FROM “MIRACLE ON 34TH ST.”, TO “SCROOGED” (HOW “IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE”, EVER GOT INTO THE MIX IS BEYOND ME, EVEN MORE SO, HOW “DIE HARD”, GOT INCLUDED, BUT, FOR TONIGHT AT LEAST, THEY DON’T COUNT!).
SO, WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CHRISTMAS MOVIE?...OR MOVIES...WHY HAVE JUST ONE?
MY VERY, VERY FAVORITE, NOTHING ELSE COMES CLOSE (ALTHOUGH THERE ARE OTHER GOOD ONES), IS ALISTAIR SIM’S 1951 VERSION OF “A CHRISTMAS CAROL” (ALSO CALLED “SCROOGE”).
WHEN I WAS A KID THE MOST TERRIFYING THING I EVER SAW WAS THE SHROUDED GHOST OF CHRISTMAS FUTURE RAISE HIS ARM AND POINT HIS BONY FINGER TO THE GRAVEYARD! TO THIS DAY IT STILL CHILLS ME.
I WATCH THIS FILM EVERY YEAR, AND NEVER FIND IT ANYTHING BUT FRESH, NEW, HEART WRENCHING, AND ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!
AND YOU? TO EACH OF YOU, WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE?
Greetings to all at the Canteen!
To all our military men and women, past and present,
THANK YOU
for your service!
Hurrah for you, Pro, for “doing fine”. Keep it up!!
My siblings and I probably drove our parents crazy singing this and other classics of the time constantly while riding too and from all the functions we got to go too. Fun times.
A bare inch of snow here but the chill should slow the bugs down next summer...
Hey there, radu!
Are ya braced for what’s coming? I noticed you’re still in the upper 30s. Guess that’ll change like ours did bright and early this morning.
It’s 14 degrees here right now. I’ve had to un-freeze the kitties’ water several times today. The only time I’ve seen all of them is when I fed them this evening. I don’t blame them for staying hidden. Hubby turned on the little heater he has in the greenhouse. Hopefully someone will find it helpful. :)
What a lovely picture of the little Christmas angel.
It’s Christmas Eve Eve Eve
Good evening, Mayor, and thank you for today’s sustenance for body and soul.
Howdy, luvie.
I’m as ready as I can be and hope I don’t find out the hard way that I forgot something important.
I wanted to move the d*** Mercedes Hubby insisted on keeping out of the garage here at the house so I could put the Town Car in there. When I went out to move it - - no key!!! Can’t find it anywhere and I dug around for over an hour.
I called his cousin next door and he came over with his Jeep. We dragged that car out with the winch! The Town Car is now in there where the water in the battery won’t freeze. When this frigid air is finally out of here, I’ll have transportation.
Our temp is already down to 30 now and it was around 45 an hour ago when Hubby’s cousin left. It was spitting snow a couple of minutes ago when I looked outside. We won’t get much based on what I see on the radar. Just ice from the rain we got before it changed over.
I saw that the bitter cold had reached you earlier. I wish ALL of your kitties would figure out there’s some heat in the little greenhouse and hunker down in there.
Waring has the knack for good tunes...this is one of them. Thanks, Fiji!
I hope they will notice the heater being on, but if they don’t, they do have the cozy self-heating pads.
I’m soooo glad that his cousin was at home and could help move that car out of the way for you. Sure don’t need the car you drive to be in the worst of it...just in case.
Sounds like you’re in for it now. I hope that it doesn’t snow too much, but if it padded the ice underneath, in case you need to get out for some insane reason, that would be a good thing.
Good evening, JJ...((HUGS))...so much snow so quickly and storms back to back.
So unusual for Anchorage. Fairbanks is better at it than we are. I was out today and there is so much snow, that Northern Lights was only 1 lane, sometimes a lane and a third for where I was trying to go. It’s normally 2 to 3 lanes. Dicey driving and trying not to get sucked into the berms on the side.
I used to drive from Tudor Road to Birch Road via Lake Otis and Abbott Rd. There’s a steep hill on Abbott just before Birch.
Cars lined up at the top of the hill. The first one would go down, get momentum, and HOPEFULLY get all the way to the top. Then a quick right turn on to Birch.
If the first car made it, it was the next one’s turn. It was all fun and games until someone didn’t make it.
