Recently, our beloved president, Donald Trump, posted this on TruthSocial:
In it, is a statement that could be interpreted one of two ways. One interpretation was sinister: ("I'd dismiss the Constitution and just become president, if I could")
The other interpretation was not only constructive, but very accurate: ("Fraus Omnia Vitiat... Fraud vitiates everything. The orchestrated fraud of Democrats in 2020, are such that all rules -- even the Constitution -- has been destroyed by them.")
Many people on our side immediately saw that he was trying to express the second interpretation. However, the left immediately jumped on the first interpretation and began excoriating him for it.
Even I, at the first glance at his post, was alarmed. Briefly after, though, I saw what he really meant. Then it occured to me that there were two possible interpretations. Why should it be possible to have two interpretations of his statement?
The leftist media will take his statement and feed it to the masses of leftist zombies, further cementing in their mind that a re-elected Trump would be a tyrant, and that January 6th was an actual attempt to execute a coup. People who feel that way are extremely dangerous, and will commit acts of violence to stop a 'coup' or a 'tyrant'.
Why should he have given our political enemies any ammunition at all? Couldn't he have been more clear, and thus removed any chance to be misinterpreted?
There is another poster here, AnotherUnixGeek who put it really well: The words of most politicians are far better than their actions. Trump is the opposite - his actions as president were overwhelmingly positive and good for the United States, while the stuff that comes out of his mouth and out of his typing fingers can be cringe-inducing.
I love President Trump's actions as president! He was amazing in just about every way, doing so well that I feel his performance exceeded Ronald Reagans.
What we loved about Donald Trump in 2016, was his bold and combative style. He took it right to the Enemedia. He allowed NOTHING they said to go unchallenged. It was refreshing and energizing, and in the end, it made him president.
However, after six long years of the Enemedia twisting what he said -- even when he was very clear -- I would expect the man to be much more articulate and careful. I'd expect him to re-read every post, trying to predict how he'd be misquoted or misinterpreted. There is absolutely no reason he should have stepped into this one.
On the other hand, Jim Robinson had a good take on it: Trump would not be the man we all know and love if he has to run everything he says through a committee or a focus group —like RINOs do. Trump is fine. Let Trump be Trump as he fights the media and the leftists. Results are what counts.
And let's remember, one of us became President of the United States, and the other one of us (myself) is writing an editorial on Free Republic.
I did too, and I was particularly concerned that this could set a precedent -- that Presidents could direct the ATF to change rules so thoroughly, that it should have come as a law from the House and Senate instead.
Everything that the enemedia poops out should be regarded as BS when it comes to anything that President Trump, prominent republicans, conservatives and gun owners say or do.
Every single day, another turd of a lie is stinking up the public square.
“If I read the headline from The New York Times that says the sun will rise in the east, I always have to ask myself, ‘I wonder if it’s true.’ “

Wishy washy drival. Grow a spine.
C’mon man. The Democrats and their media and fed gov lackeys have been trying to tell us that anything Donald Trump says is illegal — for over seven years.
It’s our duty to ridicule them for this; not for us to get on their bandwagon.
HA! Well played. 😁
My thing on this is that the US Constitution HAS NO RULES regarding the administration, by State Legislatures, of the processes by which the States appoint the President and Vice President, that this is for a reason (fully debated at Philadelphia in 1787-88), and that, therefore, all appeals to Federal courts or to the Congress are likely misdirected.
If there are problems, it is up to the people in their states, acting as state citizens, to fix them.
And it follows that Donald Trump’s grievances are with the people and the State Legislatures of Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Arizona.
And of course, it also follows that when you get swindled, you take your revenge going forward, not by going out in public in a dunce cap telling passersby that you have been swindled.
At least it ain't a blog.
Ok, so I'll mark you as 'Not A Fan'. 😊
Good summation. What initially alarmed me were the headlines which supported the first interpretation. After reading the article(s), it became immediately obvious that his words were being twisted.
No one should have to run their responses through a committee. Their writing and speaking should be clear and concise.
Please take this as a submission to your website.
The only thing that really matters is that Trump cannot win. It’s not because they “stole” it from him or because a few voting machines go down for a few minutes in a couple counties. Trump cannot win because truly independent voters will not vote for him anymore. His rabid base (many people on this site) only talk to other Trump-ophiles so they have no perspective when it comes to 2024. Trump cannot win. It’s just too bad we are probably going to have to lose 2024 in order to get past the Trump phase.
Trump will always be his own worst enemy. 😞
Humblegunner, it is no surprise that you would try to back up the pervert fossil Laz. You blog fixation is ridiculous and some of your views on the world leaves me to wonder about you as a human being.
Meanwhile I am still not reading Laz’s little essay. It can only be of the same quality that he is.
In my opinion, unless the Department of Justice can prove that the 2020 Presidential election was completely fair and completely honest, they have no legal basis to prosecute anyone for sedition or for disrupting the election certification in the Capitol.
I cannot prove the election was fraudulent.
But, the DOJ cannot prove the election was honest.
One doesn’t have to be a brain surgeon to understand what he meant, however the lame stream fake news media would of course take it out of context.
I finally understand your second interpretation. The words “allows for” could means “causes or creates” rather than “justifies”. Very bad wording, especially for someone being accused of insurrection. He needs an editor.
You understand now, what my point on the other thread was.
Glad I wrote this.
If you support the “sinister” quote then you, along with most of the liberals in this country suffer from Dyslexia!
DYSLEXIA is defined as “Also called a reading disability, dyslexia is a result of individual differences in areas of the brain that process language.”
Talk about making a mountain out of a molehill.
