MSNBC host Jonathan Lemire said Monday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that white nationalism was becoming “more central to what today’s Republican Party is about” while discussing former President Donald Trump meeting with Nick Fuentes and rapper Kanye West at his Mar-a-Lago estate.
Co-host Mika Brzezinski said, “Not just any dinner, dinner at Mar-a-Lago, which former President Trump calls his Florida White House, his southern White House. This is the place where classified documents were seized by the FBI that the president had taken, stolen from areas where these documents are kept in our government, office buildings, and in the White House, and brought them to Mar-a-Lago. This is where he’s having dinner now with white supremacists and antisemites.”
Co-host Joe Scarborough said, “Jonathan Lemire, he refuses any condemnation of this guy, and it’s the same thing with, you know, it’s the same thing with Kanye West, but there is a strange silence out there. Even if a guy like Mike Pompeo will condemn antisemitism, won’t say Trump’s name, afraid it say Trump’s name, and Marjorie Taylor Greene, yeah, she’s a fringe member, but she stops being a fringe member when Kevin McCarthy is striking deals with her, so he becomes Speaker of the House.”

Nationalism is a valid sentiment. MSNBC should tell us how it is then that minorities are gravitating towards the GOP. In 2020 and the most recent midterms, I think the GOP gained “market share” of minority votes. Obviously its incremental but trending in a direction that “white nationalism” clearly doesnt promote.
Scarborough tries to paint Trump with the broad brush of anti-Semitism. The man is a Fool. In simply moving our embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem Trump did more to demonstrate his love for Israel than had any previous President.
Folks.....please don’t get sucked into this definition and dialogue.
The ONLY people MSNBC is playing to is the liberal left. They DO NOT have an audience outside the loney left.

If you take nationalism and call it white
If the non-whites drop that nationalism and create their own race-centric identity
If a non-white who keeps the old nationalism is called white
Then the old nationalism becomes white nationalism
Right, yep, that’s just what I’m interested in—my whiteness.

I don’t focus on differences, adjectives or pronouns.
The whole world is on fire so crayolas and navel gazing are fairly unimportant.
My nationalism is:
I don’t want illegal immigrants of any color—I can’t afford the taxes to pay for them.
I don’t want to spend on other countries when we’re in a heck of a jam here.
Yes, my country is most important to me—I do care about others and their country but it’s like on plane emergencies—put the mask on yourself before you help others.

Agreed. A good tactic going forward will be to pressure republican candidates to speak up for nationalism, and in particular Christian nationalism. My guess is most will try to deflect by talking about Americanism and judeo-christian values, or some other abstract, but it at least pressures them.
It's gotten to the point where anyone who supports Trump in any way OR his policies is either a white supremacist or a white nationalist.

Why? Why in hell does every other race define themselves but white? I’m done. I had no choice in my skin color any more than they did. Judge me by my actions....if not, then my skin color. So be it. This country is here because of my kin. We built coliseums while you couldn’t figure out the wheel. You lived in mud huts and we had multiplex cities with aqueducts. Enjoy the HUMAN RACE or suck it
Smart strategy to put Republicans on the defensive standing in line to grovel and insist they are not racists and they don’t beat their wives etc. It also distracts from dem failures.
The Republicans need to go after the dem brand itself to the point where the dems are on the offensive.
