Of course it should be audited. ALL foreign aid should be audited. Congress has a DUTY to make sure taxpayers’ know where their money goes. This is a no-brainer.

There will be no movement on this until the next Congress and Speaker are sworn in next January. If a audit is starts the same day, it will take months to get any preliminary results. By that time there is a good chance war will have ended or the outcome will have no doubt. Which side has won or lost will make no difference if the end is in sight.

This is the same DOD that has had five audits since 2017, and failed each of them. If a audit is held, there is no guarantee that it will succeed, and any result will be compared to the outcomes of past audits. If the audit actually looks better compared to past failures, it would help maintain funding.

The audit itself is no means a guarantee that Congress will reduce or stop funding Ukraine.
