Most Americans think former President Trump should testify before the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the Capitol, new polling shows.

A Monmouth University poll released Wednesday found that six in 10 Americans think Trump should comply with the committee’s recent subpoena calling him to appear before the panel.

At its ninth public hearing last week, the Jan. 6 committee voted unanimously to subpoena Trump as it prepares to issue its final report before the end of the year.

Eighty-nine percent of Democrats and 61 percent of independents polled think Trump should have to testify, while 67 percent of Republicans think he should not have to comply with the subpoena.

And he would have one or two, would he not?

And this isn’t a courtroom, this is a circus. A circus they created and one that hasn’t had one shred of substantial evidence or firsthand account of anything.

So, try to imagine Thompson, Cheney, Kinzinger, after their tiresome diatribes asking him one question. He’s then allowed to answer it in any way he wants. And there’s no telling what he might be able to drop in the public forum. A forum that the MSM will not be able to ignore or print in an article at the bottom of page 39.

It’ll be right there for all the world to see.

The J6 Committee is setting up the President for a perjury/false statement referral to DOJ. Although the President has a powerful story to tell about the corruption and collusion between the Deep State and the media, he will not be the one asking the questions. He will be hammered on seemingly small and insignificant points simply so the Committee can obtain answers that conflict with other witnesses. Once that is done, the Committee will say that President Trump made materially false statements under oath to Congress and then DOJ will claim that no one is above the law and thus as “painful” as it may be the President must be indicted. With proper timing, the charges can be lodged prior to the start of the 2024 election season.

“A Monmouth University poll…”

I trust this as much as I trust Biden.

I think he should agree to be “interviewed” by the committee but refuse to be under oath. After all, if the FBI can interview Hillary Clinton not under oath, Trump can be afforded the same courtesy. And yes he should insist on live TV..

He’d better take the 5th, or whatever he says will put him before a DC jury.

"As of January 7, 2019, there are 30,001 registered voters affiliated with the Republican Party of the District of Columbia. That is 6.15% of all registered voters."

Others are ready right now, today, for Trump to go to prison convicted on a guilty charge----judge has to admonish them "You can't declare him guilty. The trial hasn't begun yet. You must wait for opening and closing statements and evidence. then you can announce you find Trump guilty." (groans and wrinkled scowls from jurors.)

I agree.. he should... but under HIS terms of on live TV.

He has no say. If the committee issues a subpoena then they do it on their terms with Trump being sworn in under oath and they asking the questions. If Trump refuses then they committee can press charges. Why would Trump agree to that?

Not one shred of evidence exists, that causes this to be
required. It’s an end run “process charge fishing trip”.

He should appear and plead the fifth to every question.

When they ask why, I’d answer that one question.

“Because you will ask a lot of questions, and if I
accidentally forget something, or provide an answer
slightly off point, you’ll try to drum up a process
charge against me. You’ve already done it on
Plaintiff 01, plaintiff 02, plaintiff 03, plaintiff 04,
plaintiff 05, plaintiff 06, plaintiff 07, plaintiff 08,
plaintiff...”

“Not going to allow you to pull that on me. I refuse
to answer your questions. I’ve already made statements
on all these matters, and you have no evidence to cause
you to demand I come here.”
