Nobody is going to buy Russian energy if that happens. Then Putin will get the Mussolini treatment from humiliated Russians who will have lost everything.

You don't get it, do you?

A nuclear was is existential.

The survivors will make the decisions on where they'll buy oil from and it'll likely be from whoever has it for sale.

“Agreed. Neither is an ally.
I don’t give a quarter of a shit what happens to either.
We have enough domestic issues to concern ourselves with.”

This! I DO care what happens to our tax dollars and gas prices. Our wise government has deemed it is important to send $100 billion dollars that way I guess.

And really, only about ten of them need to hit home to completely obliterate Western economies.

If those hit major population centers... they'll wipe out half of the Democrats.

Zelensky: Russian officials starting to ‘prepare their society’ for use of nuclear weapons

Some of us who have been paying attention know that Russia has been preparing their society for use of nuclear weapons for the past sixty years at least.   They taught civil defense and practiced it while we were taught to just bend over, place your head between your legs and kiss rear-end goodbye.

I agree, but with 13,000 plus nuclear warheads, in the world today, it's a safe bet that more then ten would get through.

Remember there are ICBM, Theater Tactical missiles, submarine-launched ballistic missiles (SLBMs), and aircraft borne nuclear bombs and nuclear-armed Advanced Cruise Missiles.

That's a lot of variety in methods of deployment.   I have no doubt that a few hundred would get through on both sides.

Zelensky is taking the attitude that he can do whatever he wants and Putin has to back down because Dementia Joe has a nuclear deterrent. The mad thug Putin also has a nuclear deterrent and their guys have more pieces in their chess set than we do in ours and have spent a lot of time thinking about their moves. We spent two decades leading the world on giving them up. The world didn’t follow our lead. Now our child leaders thing nuclear war is bang-you’re dead when the acrual game is bang-everyone is dead.

A nuclear was is existential.

That is only true if both combatants have substantial nuclear arsenals. The US attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki did not threaten the existence of the United States, because Japan lacked nuclear weapons. A Russian nuclear strike on Ukraine would in similar fashion not threaten the existence of Russia - unless some 'third party' nuclear power volunteered to risk it's very existence on behalf of Ukraine.

People assume the US is such a potentially suicidal third party, even though we are not obligated by any treaty to intervene, and Ukrainian independence is not a vital US interest. Would the US intervene with nuclear forces if India nuked Bangladesh? Or if Pakistan nuked Afghanistan?

Talk is cheap (especially when the speaker is senile), and hopefully there are enough sentient adults left in DC to prevent national suicide over a war that most Americans can't even find on a map...

;>)

I understand that there are bomb shelters all over Russia built for the people. Here in the US, we’re on our own.

You are smoking something good. Russia has not attacked our country. WE are prolonging the war to support corrupt Ukraine where Hunter Biden made millions.

On top of all that we are more broke than ever. Our debt is far bigger than GDP so we can never pay off principle. The interest on debt is now Billion dollars every day of the year.

Sorry chum, makes zero sense to risk nuclear war to save homo erotic dancer Zelensky and his corrupt country.

When did you discern that? For me, it was AG Sessions recusal out of thin air + the GOP’s lack of support for Trump + NO INDICTMENTS after the 100+ day assault on the last backstop of our government (Portland FEDERAL courthouse).

I’ve been calling that out since about April 2021.

I was told I was spot on by some very prominent people which surprised me as I’ve always been a bit radical in predictions.

The reason I continue repeating it is because there are newcomers that need to hear it.

Yep. To hell with the whole Ukraine grift. I don’t care about either side and I am tired of our borrowed dollars being laundered there.

Yup. I’m waiting for Putin to withdraw Russian troops from Ukraine, end the war. Then we can forget about Zelensky and Russia

A Russian nuclear strike on Ukraine would in similar fashion not threaten the existence of Russia...

Do you really think that if any nation lets the genie out of the bottle, that will stand alone with no repercussions?

No nation would ever trust that one tactical hypersonic nuclear missile would be a one time deal?   There would have to be a retaliation by someone and that nation would have to let the whole arsenal fly.   If not that day, then within weeks or even days.   That is how an escalation works.   A tactical hypersonic nuclear missile is an escalation from conventional weapons.   In war there is always an escalation.   It's a matter of trust.   As in, nobody can afford to trust the enemy when considering nuclear war.

More like getting his troops out of harm's way and send the nukes to win for keeps.

[Here in America, we’ll see panic runs on the grocery stores emptying shelves.]

I predicted this in WalMart just a few hours ago to a guy I know who works there.

In the first 24 hours, most of the food would be gone. By thieves and by panic.

At 72 hours, virtually no food left at all.

I remember the empty shelves, of canned items (soups and vegetables, beans), any cheap or lower-priced bread, most beef gone except for higher-priced, chicken almost totally gone if not totally gone, some pork gone, most all the milk gone.

For weeks and weeks and weeks. Anything that came in was gone in a flash.
