America has long prided itself on being a country where people can choose whatever religion they like. The majority has long chosen Christianity.
By 2070, that may no longer be the case. If current trends continue, Christians could make up less than half of the population — and as little as a third— in 50 years. Meanwhile, the so-called nones — or the religiously unaffiliated — could make up close to half of the population. And the percentage of Americans who identify as Muslims, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists and other non-Christian faiths could double.
Those are among the major findings of a new report from the Pew Research Center regarding America’s religious future—a future where Christianity, though diminished, persists while non-Christian faiths grow amid rising secularization.

A 10% population percentage of true, biblical believers would be far more effective in society than 90% of fake, “mainstream” Christians of the brand we know today.
“Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”
John Adams
But what did he know he was only, an American statesman, attorney, diplomat, writer, and Founding Father who served as the second president of the United States from 1797 to 1801.
He was nobody
Chris Wray would arrest him today using petty charges and fake evidence
I’m not sure it will be legal to be Christian by 2070.
Fewer than half MAY be Christian? How does this crap make it to print.
I would say it’s going to drop to 0% instantly, very very soon.
I'm pretty sure that the U.S. won't be around by 2070. We'll either be a province of China, or the Millennial Kingdom. I'm betting the latter.
Point taken.
Please. Fewer than half of Americans are functionally Christian right now.
Being Christian is in the heart....and it is the majority of the people in our country. It doesn’t require Mass on Sunday or a stipend...it requires goodness.
I know. but this poll probably just measures professions only.
I read a poll recently that 30% of EVANGELICAL Christians approve of same-sex "mirage." That tells you a lot about how genuine they are.
More than 85% of Americans may be Christian by 2070.
Two can play that game.
Yep, beheadings in the streets, Taliban controlling the courts. Thank you Ted Kennedy. We are leaving some f’d up world for our kids.
There won’t be an America in 50 years, at least that we would recognize.
21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’
Yeah and right around that time zero Americans will be Christian because as a thief in the night, Jesus will have caught those in Christ up to meet him in the sky and will have taken them to Heaven (1 Thess. 4:16-17).
You just don’t want to be left behind because what happens next on this earth is beyond horrific.
No. It requires the righteousness of Christ.
And, to my mind, those who have that -- i.e., on account of their trusting entirely in the finished work of Jesus on the cross for their salvation and their eternal life -- constitute far, far less than the "majority of the people in our country."
I think you’re closer.
What the “experts don’t know is there is coming a great worldwide revival and many will come to the Lord just before he comes to take his own out of the world and into Heaven keeping his own from the unimaginably horrific seven years on earth to follow.
I have no doubt that fewer than half Americans are actually Christians in the first place, no matter what they claim for religious affiliation.
