California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) issued an executive order Tuesday to establish a “Racial Equity Commission” to tackle the issue of “structural racism” in the deep-blue, liberal state.
The order follows the recommendations of the state’s task force on reparations for slavery earlier this year, which recommended not only cash payments but also the establishment of racially segregated schools, described as “described as “African American/American Freedmen owned and controlled” institutions.

Well, since Newsom has admitted the system he presides over is structurally racist, he should resign immediately and appoint Larry Elder to be governor since his rigged system cheated Elder out of the recall vote.

White males should resign in the California government and legislature.

Cali was never a slave state, or a state at all in those days. Those days being over 150 years ago. If there is any “structural or systemic racism” there it is from the democrats of California. You can pay them all you want (from your own state’s money) but know going in it will not be enough. Why would it be? The gravy train ends then.

“...“African American/American Freedmen owned and controlled”
I’m surprised that there are all that many ‘American Freedmen’ still alive. The youngest by my reckoning would be 157 years old.

If every black man/woman/child in California was given one million dollars, no questions asked, would then equity be achieved or would there need to be more equity given down the road?

California was never a slave state. Why would they even consider this? It is irrelevant to the history of California.

I think there were less than a handful of slaves who were brought into the state by their owners. That they were not freed automatically when they entered is now considered a black mark on California.
Of course the government at the time was just following the law, and failing to follow the law would have had national repercussions that I'm sure they didn't want to deal with.
Talk about mountains from molehills.

Racially segregated schools? Are they also going to reinstate racially segregated restaurants and water fountains?

Why doesn’t this elitist moron do something to solve California’s problems: homelessness, crime, water supply, inadequate electric grid, etc. etc.?

39 percent of Californians are Hispanic. Five percent are black. Seems like Nuisance is catering to the wrong group. Many Hispanics feel the US stole Cali from Mexico. I don’t imagine they’re too pleased with the idea of paying “reparations” to the descendants of people that they never owned.
