The aircraft had set off for Antalya in Turkey but was diverted..
Passengers on a Turkey-bound flight from Birmingham Airport experienced a mid-air drama after a pilot reportedly "fainted", forcing the plane to make an emergency landing. The Jet2 flight which was travelling to Antalya in Turkey landed in Thessaloniki in Greece because of what the airline described as a medical emergency.
The flight was diverted as a "precautionary measure" according to a Jet2 spokesman. They added that teams worked "extremely hard to look after everyone" and apologised for the delay.
Some passengers were delayed by the incident, with one claiming the incident had delayed the start of their holiday by eight hours. They said their family of four was given a €15 euro voucher each which only covered a "basic meal"

The incident happened on August 23. A passenger told how the drama started when the plane hit some turbulence.
They said: "While we were all [seated] we noticed something was going on at the front of the plane. We thought someone had hurt themselves in the toilet while experiencing turbulence.
"We were told we were landing in Greece due to a medical emergency on board. We weren’t told what part."
The holidaymaker said staff did "all they could" to keep people updated in the airport - but not before they were stuck on the runway in Thessaloniki for more than an hour waiting for an ambulance to arrive. Stewards reportedly informed passengers the pilot had "fainted" - but medical emergencies are not covered in Jet2 's compensation policy.

A Jet2 spokesman said: “Flight LS1239 from Birmingham to Antalya diverted to Thessaloniki Airport as a precautionary measure on Tuesday (August 23) due to one of the pilots feeling unwell. A replacement crew were flown to Thessaloniki so that we could get customers on their way to Antalya that same evening.
I presume the pilot fainted due to covid vaccine related issues.
Nah, the turbulence was extra rough and he fainted dead away.

Earlier today, there was a story posted about two French pilot who came to blows in the cockpit and had to be separated after an arguement. I thought this might be similar.

His flight surgeon would have denied medical clearance during his flight physical if that were the case.

The turbulence was caused by man made global warming. The press has it right again, global warming is causing unexpected deaths in teen agers and is causing pilots to pass out.
