White House aides repeatedly refuse to address the cost of President Joe Biden’s decision on Wednesday to cancel up to $20,000 in student debt.
“I can’t give you that off the top of my head,” White House director of domestic policy Susan Rice said Wednesday during the daily briefing when asked whether the administration had estimated the cost of the president’s decision.
She repeated the cost of the program would not be fully known until the federal government knew how many people would take advantage of it.
The president spent several months stalling a decision on canceling student debt, telling reporters he was waiting for further analysis about the impacts of the decision.
But after the decision was announced, his aides pretended they had no estimate of how much it would cost the American people

Playing dumb is one thing Biden excels at.
“This won’t cost anything at all. We have a printing press.”
They’re not playing.

99% of the media will never bring it up again.
First, there was the Inflation Reduction Act. Now, there is the Bailing Out Poor Life Decisions Act. Someone has to pay off the loan for that Whatever Studies degree that has earned the holder a prime position behind the fast food fryer. Why not the engineering grad next door who has already paid his loan off?
Well, hopefully this will never see the light of day in reality because it is illegal.
Bread and circuses. The Big Media isnt going to ask that question because this is all about getting the gimme vote.
Bidens Whitehouse never ‘Thinks’ about what they’re doing - thus they can never explain clearly why they’re doing it.
And who gave any president that power?
And why would they? They know that the MSM and the Beltway establishment will have their backs - no matter what.
Not to worry as the Inflation Expansion Act will cover 300 billion, so that’s only a modest expense which we can all afford from one of our many separate offshore bank accounts.
The good news is, this will put a dagger in the university.
Wonder if it would be better to just allow people to declare bankruptcy on their student loans
Even my leftist, trump-hating relatives don’t like this.
We all grew up in a blue-collar, working class area in the 1970s - so like everyone, they worked extra jobs, delayed school, limited their choices, to avoid going into debt to afford college.
My consolation is that I love that Biden is rubbing their noses in it.
“Plays”? They are dumb-—Marxists aren’t smart but they are good liars.
The more I hear about this the more I don’t think it’s gonna fly.
It goes to court and gets shot down.
Didn’t p-lousey even say potatohead doesn’t have the power to do this?
What’s that about?
Yesterday, it was 300 billion. Now it’s 500 billion. Tomorrow a trillion. It sucks that we can never get accurate information.
