Judge Reinhart formally rejects DOJ argument to keep Trump affidavit sealed, calls raid 'unprecedented'

Judge Bruce Reinhart on Monday admitted the FBI's raid on former President Trump's Mar-a-Lago home was "unprecedented" and formally rejected the Justice Department's argument to keep the affidavit leading to the search under seal, citing the "intense public and historical interest."

Reinhart, in a filing Monday morning, said he rejects "the Government’s argument that the present record justifies keeping the entire Affidavit under seal."

"The Government argues that even requiring it to redact portions of the Affidavit that could not reveal agent identities or investigative sources and methods imposes an undue burden on its resources and sets a precedent that could be disruptive and burdensome in future cases," Reinhart wrote. "I do not need to reach the question of whether, in some other case, these concerns could justify denying public access; they very well might."

We have a right to know if this was a fishing expedition with the goal of denying the people of the United States the right to vote for the candidate of their choice.

There is, of course, the potential embarrassment (if the DOJ had any shame) of the items named not matching the items taken, which only a few million people suspect will be the case. However, I’m sure the DOJ has already looked into its behavior and found no wrongdoing.

Calls it unprecedented, yet he signed it?

Sounds like he's trying to cover his arse now.

He was just as shocked as you or I.

He probably found out about it from listening the news.

“Government prosecutor Jay Bratt last week argued that unsealing the affidavit would “provide a roadmap” of an ongoing investigation still in its early stages”

Please allow me to translate:

“We plan to drag this out for 2 1/2 years in a effort ruin Trump and his bid to run for POTUS again”

This judge regardless of ties or past has the most beautiful window that was opened by the DOJ to make repairs on public perception of the outrageous conduct of senior FBI and DOJ officials and their top henchmen. He can send a message about the perjury before the FISA Court, the acts of being political mercenaries, and stop their abuse of power with this case. He merely has to show what they’ve put in front of him. (Unless he’s afraid for his life)

The only way he could have been played, is if he just rubber-stamped it and never read what he had signed. Which means he did not do his job whatsoever. To me that makes him as culpable as the rest involved. He knows that to be the case, and is now running quite scared to say the least.

Maybe it’s just that he doesn’t like getting profusely lied to and now having to endure the wrath of the American people over this partisan debacle.

If this violation is allowed to stand in any degree, the Fourth Amendment is dead.
