Some Republicans are expressing concern that pro-Trump candidates in blue states, where the party has typically found success with more moderate candidates, could hurt the chances of large GOP gains in Congress and statehouses this November.

"It can’t continue," former Connecticut U.S. Rep. Christopher Shays, a moderate Republican and Trump critic, told the Associated Press referring to the GOP choosing pro-Trump candidates. "One of the things that will happen is that a lot of the Trump candidates who won the primary will lose the general election. And there are a lot of unhappy Republicans who hold office now who believe that the Senate now is in jeopardy of staying Democratic."

Republican voters nominated pro-Trump candidates in several blue states, including Maryland and Connecticut, where more "moderate" GOP candidates have typically found success.

Yeah and Akins and O’Donnell were the worst picks possible. Let’s hope these are better.

You know his pay is the same as if he were majority. Congress makes it so you can’t take away pay once you have it. Only congress of course. Jerks. That’s why he could care less.

“The fact that we’re winning means we’re losing”

That’s exactly what these RINOs are arguing.

Lamebrains.

The GOP nominee for MD Comptroller allegedly attended a FUNDRAISER for Wes Moore, the far left dem gubernatorial nominee. Meanwhile Larry Hogan calls GOP Gov nominee Dan Cox “mentally ill”.

There's an Orwellian sentence. Neither state has had a Republican Senator in decades. There are zero Republican Congressmen in CT. I think the last one was in the 2000's. There is one Republican Congressmen in MD. I think it's been decades since they had more than one in MD. They sometimes elect "moderate" Republican Governors like Hogan - who are actually liberal on most things. Why should any conservative care about that?

He’s blothering about Establishment sorts not making the gains they want.

-----

"And there are a lot of unhappy Republicans who hold office now who believe that the Senate now is in jeopardy of staying Democratic."

The article is about promoting or maintaining "moderate Republicans". And my question for him is: How will we know the difference? You, yourself used the term "uniparty"

I know what most people think when they say GOP, including the GOP.

You're as confused as pronouns for identity. You can't talk GOP and "uniparty" in the same breath. You're a victim of doublethink.

Why do you print establishment with a capital "E"?

"...several blue states, including Maryland and Connecticut..."

What nonsense!
Foreign countries like CT or MD (where I am trapped) cannot be used as indicators of anything except the standard communist victory...
Pro-Trump GOP wins there have zero relevance...

I’m not confused in the slightest.

the fact you can’t understand my point is not my problem.

Mitch’s GOP is not what the GOP used to be.
the state of the GOP is dictated by its leadership.
All I see are Rinos in charge of it, trying to put down anyone they see as not in their club. AKA MAGA/America First.

Mitch and Kevin will side any day of the week with the Democrats, not us.

Mitch is complaining his people are getting tossed out for Trump’s picks. Mitch would rather be Minority leader then have America First Senators en Masse.
