Weiss told Republican U.S. Senator Tim Scott about the circumstances surrounding a 2020 op-ed he wrote about police reform that the Times refused to publish.
“There was a discussion about the piece and whether or not we should run it,” Weiss recalled. “And one colleague, a more senior colleague said to a more junior colleague who was pushing for the piece, ‘Do you think the Republicans really care about minority rights?’” ...
Weiss continued, “And the more junior colleagues said, ‘I think Tim Scott cares about minority rights.’ And then, and here’s the pretty shocking part: The more senior colleague said, ‘Let’s check with Senator Schumer before we run it.'” ...
The New York Times has denied the allegation to the New York Post, claiming “New York Times Opinion never seeks outside approval or consultation whether to publish guest opinion essays.” However, original reporting from the National Review’s Nate Hochman affirms Weiss’s account and disputes the Times’s denial....
In 2020, the same year that Sen. Scott’s essay was rejected, the Times did publish writing from another Republican senator, Tom Cotton. not the Bee?
Is this a story from the 90s or are they just that slow in Cheesehead land, eh?

Hitler, an alleged Nazi.
There is nothing “alleged” about it.

Trust, “undermined?”. Now that is and understatement. Cronkites VN proclamation did it for me.
The media post WWII was/is not to be trusted.
What Trust?.................................
I never read that or Wapo
Only a Canadian would believe this is an inside look at the NYT. Go away, and take your sad blend of Trudeau conservativism with you.
If you think bad things happen at the media or the FBI, it’s most likely much much worse than you can imagine. t’s the iceberg concept.
“Alleged?” National Post (Canada) can just suck it.
A day late and a dollar short.
