Hours after he was convicted on a misdemeanor contempt of Congress charge, former Trump advisor Steve Bannon made an appearance on 'Tucker Carlson Tonight' to declare: 'If I go to jail, so be it.'
During the interview on Friday night, Carlson asked the former Breitbart editor how he felt about the possibility that he might be going to prison.
Bannon remained defiant, telling the host: 'If I go to jail, I go to jail. I will never back off a second like I spent eight years as a Naval officer. I've committed my life to this program to get this done. '

Free Bannon.
Having contempt for contemptible members of Congress is indisputably logical.
Isn’t that why “The Hollywood Ten” went to jail?
We need to make it happen folks "ULTRA MAGA 2024" Then honest patriotic "ELECTED" Americans need to dig deep into this corrupt two-tiered filth that's been embedded in our government!
...AND we need to honestly get back to our Constitutional rights!
banana republic
God bless Bannon and our constitution
One of the jurors admitted that he doesn’t believe anything Bannon says “because of who he’s associated with.” It is literally impossible for anyone who supported President Trump, even to the extent of voting for him and nothing else, to get a fair trail in DC.
The last one was the late G. Gordon Liddy.
First Bannon. Then the boys. I-vannnnka and Jaaaaaaaared! (oy!) will pretend to turn on her daddy. Then The Stable Genius will be led away in handcuffs. Mike Lindell will voluntarily go to prison in solidarity.
This is all part of the plan. Don't worry. It is a TRAP they are setting, to show everyone that the democrats will stoop to any level, thereby turning the Americant shitizen into MAGA lovers who will ALL vote repugnicant this november in such great numbers the voting fraud that (Trump and the repugnicu-ts in CONgress FAILED to do the slightest thing about) won't work! Masterful!
That will likely be one of the grounds for appeal. Congress denied his claim of executive privilege and that should have been adjudicated in the courts first before charging him with the crime of contempt of Congress.
“The Deep Sate is panicking like we’ve never seen before. Trump and the patriots are in control.” That one and “Winning,” make me wretch.
Ack. Meant “Deep State,’
no contempt of court, not congress
They can charge him but can they legally sentence him to jail? I should have listened in school, or studied the constitution. Is it constitutional for them to dole out any punishment and enforce it? This confuses me. Thank you.
Congress offloaded their contempt findings to federal law and the DOJ. So yes, he can be prosecuted and serve time for violating federal law, at the discretion of the DOJ.
His appeal is based on prejudicial prosecution, as Leftists and Democrats are never so charged. Given prosecutorial discretion is a well established precedent, it’s an uphill battle, to say the least.
“Is it constitutional for them to dole out any punishment and enforce it?”
When did they start worrying about the Constitution? This afternoon? They sure haven’t been concerned for the last two years. The Jan. 6 POWs are in solitary confinement, and some haven’t even been charged with anything. Some have been charged with “parading”. Many aren’t allowed to talk to attorneys.
They’ll do to Bannon exactly what they want to do.
After the guy walked out of jail, the feds came and arrested him —or so I read.
Thank you so much.
He should be afraid. The judge will max him out and maybe even go beyond sentencing guidelines. DOJ will find a way to stick him in a medium security lockup rather than what one would normally get for a misdemeanor conviction. They want blood.
