Buttigieg defends protest disrupting Kavanaugh dinner
Washington Examiner ^ | July 10, 2022 | Abigail Adcox,

"Protesters are upset because a right, an important right that the majority of Americans support, was taken away."

Kavanaugh was dining at a restaurant in downtown D.C. last Wednesday when he made a backdoor exit after a group of abortion rights protesters was tipped off while the justice was eating and showed up out front.

“Honorable Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh and all of our other patrons at the restaurant were unduly harassed by unruly protestors while eating dinner at our Morton’s restaurant," a Morton's representative said in a statement obtained by Politico. "Politics, regardless of your side or views, should not trample the freedom at play of the right to congregate and eat dinner. There is a time and place for everything. Disturbing the dinner of all of our customers was an act of selfishness and void of decency.”

Turnabout is always fair play.

Just saying.

Over the years, I remember discussing abortion with people who didn’t exactly like Roe v. Wade, but also did not like the tactics of Operation Rescue and the Pro-Life Action League.

They wanted all parties to “work within the system”, and take the marches to the State Capitol or the Washington Mall where they belonged.

These folks did not want to support people who were “working outside the system” to get their way.

Now that the courts made it clear that abortion is not an untouchable human right protected by the U.S. Constitution, it is the pro-aborts who are acting crazy, and the pro-lifers who are trying to beef up our crisis pregnancy centers and work at the state level for better legislation and to enforce the laws already in place.

I am of the mind that some of these people who were uncomfortable with the pro-lifers direct action, are just as uncomfortable with the actual violence perpetrated against CPCs and churches by the crazies. The over-heated rhetoric also doesn’t help. The media spin only goes so far. Pro-lifers generally went to the killing centers for protests. The pro-aborts see their enemies as those who enable the choice for life, and churches that are at least officially pro-life, even if they don’t do as much as they could.

What could have been a “political win” in some swing states for the lefties may now be neutralized.

Most of the pro-aborts are not affected by the court decision because they live in blue states for the most part.

The Left is angry because the SCOTUS took away the authority of the court to legislate from the bench. This is not over yet. Alito, Roberts, Thomas are aging. So the Left will try to position to get them replaced so it will be business as usual at the SCOTUS before the Trump Court.

"Protesters are upset because a right, an important right that the majority of Americans support, was taken away."

The Court ruled that the Constitution does not give the Court the authority to regulate abortion and that the Constitution is silent on the issue. Guess what - that's all true, Mayor Pete.

The sad thing is, all the homicidal lunatics willing to kill because their beliefs are challenged, are on the left. Buttgig is safe for now, but will that change?

He forgot about January 6. The Left cracked down on MAGA crowd hard afterwards so we are intimidated into not doing something like that again. Perhaps that is why they are overconfident, the Deep State is on their side, after all.

Most of the pro-aborts are not affected by the court decision because they live in blue states for the most part.

I don't think it is only about legislating from the bench. I think it is primarily about abortion.

If a SCOTUS decision gutted the 2nd Amendment and made it a States issue, a lot of people who live in pro-gun states would also be hopping mad, and not only because the Court legislated from the bench, but because it was about guns.

This decision sets all sorts of things in motion. A lot of fake pro-lifers at the state level always claimed their hands were tied because of Roe. How now brown cow?

And Democrats in all states never wanted it to be a front burner issue, except for fund-raising. Running as the abortion candidate is not a big winner except in districts that are hard left anyway. Blacks and Hispanics don't want abortion to displace jobs and money for stuff in attention.

Some cynical Democrats will do what too many Republicans have done for years. Not work to hard to expand abortionism, because having the issue in play on some districts helps fund-raising. The True Believers will have to try to root them out, as Pro-Lifers had to with RINOs over the years.

Anyone remember the days when no one would care what people like Mayor Pete thought about anything because common sense and the basic understanding of nature thought of practicing homosexuals as mentally ill?
