The Establishment Is Running Out of Cannon Fodder for Its Woke Military
Town Hall ^ | 4 July 2022 | Kurt Schlichter

Jump out of a perfectly good airplane, charge a machine gun nest, be stationed at Ft. Irwin – these are just three of the myriad miseries American patriots are willing to endure to defend our country. But today's military is asking too much of our young people, as evidenced by the crashing recruitment rates that threaten to deplete a military already running short of soldiers. Have our young people suddenly turned from heroes to zeros, ne'er-do-well heirs of the brave warriors who confronted the forces of tyrannical gun control at Lexington and Concord?

No. The kids are alright. The problems lie echelons above.

Here's a little leadership secret that's actually not a secret at all to competent commissioned and non-commissioned officers. There are no bad cohorts of soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines, Coast Guardsmen and whatever the hell Space Force people are called. There are only bad leaders, and we have the worst military leadership in American history, starting right at the top with a commander-in-chief who is less like Ike than Beavis.

In fact – and this rips me up to say because I would not trade my about 27 years in the Army for anything – the reluctance to enlist of the traditional, normal Americans who are most likely to serve and who are the most desirable for service, is entirely rational. You do have an obligation to serve your country in some way, the military being the highest and best way for those who are able. But you do not have an obligation to do so if your life is going to be squandered by a leadership whose strategies are a disaster, whose priorities are not the defense of this country but some sort of bizarre pan-global progressive ideology...

The masculine warrior most wanted by the military does not wish to be forced to use weird pronouns, be under the command of a superior who is into them sexually, or live 24/7 with trannies.

Good points, I just don't think they're that smart.

I recall an angry young man, fresh off the streets of Chicago. He had a choice: go in the Army, or go to jail.

He was a challenge his first few months in my battery, before he was transferred to my platoon. My message to him was clear and direct: you have a clean slate with me, the past is past. However, if you don't live up to my standards, I'll ship you off in a heartbeat to Mannheim, home of our sister battalion. They spend 9 months of the year training in the red mud of Grafenwoehr.

I never had a problem with him. Unfortunately, I moved on to another job a few months later. He was gone two months later.

I was not physically imposing: 6 feet, 180 pounds. As I found out years later, my First Sergeant, a truly physically imposing man, let me in on a secret: "Sir, there are times you are really scary, and I tell everyone to steer clear of the Old Man."

"When you're pissed, your eyes become slits, like a rattlesnake's just before it strikes." I've used that technique, along with situational awareness, in the years since...lol, it's worked like a charm.

There are a few days out of the year that take precedence over Juneteenth (nearly all, to be exact):

Veteran's Day, Father's Day, Memorial Day, December 4th (anniversary of the Million Dollar Quartet, 12/4/56).

There's plenty more, that was a mere sampling. Juneteenth ranks right down there with Kwanzaa...lol.

I don’t think a gay is gay by choice anymore then an Asperger personality is an Asperger personality choice. I do think it’s a personality\psychological disorder that we no longer recognize it as such because of political fashion. (So far there is no evidence of a NO gay gene!). Maybe the best clinical description it is a usually non-debilitating sociopathy. Because we live in the Age of Radical Egalitarianism it must be hammered into our culture as a sort of “3rd sex” and therefore is perfectly normal. They know it’s not “3rd sex” and we know it’s not a “3rd sex” but they demand consideration like it’s a “3rd sex”. They of course would never admit that. So given there is no such physical thing as a “3rd” sex they mimic the heterosexual roles. Look at Buttgiggily and his “partner”. They affect the role of husband\wife - they copy the two sexes. In their case so much so that Butt puts on fake mammary glands or to use the technical term “boobs” to “nurse” a child.

This dude has a strange way of projecting his opposition to what has become a disaster in our foreign policy and military leadership, since he himself proudly announces in his biographical material that he a tool for those same dopes for most of his adult life.

I mean, seriously ... What normal person in his position today would ever admit that he served in Kosovo?

Thanks for your service, I'm right there with you.

I was lucky, my primary specialty was Short Range Air Defense. In Germany, my battalion had air base defense as its mission. Next would have been as part of an infantry or armored division. That kept the females out.

I saw what it did to a nearby Nike-Hercules site. Morale tanked: E6's were required to move back on site, as the facilities weren't "adequate" for females. Female E-1s were allowed to live off-site, while the Sergeants were not.

“Have our young people suddenly turned from heroes to zeros,..”

Suddenly?? It took a couple of generations of Leftist propaganda in schools and media.

I received my Purple Heart 50 years ago in Nam. I was a squad leader. Didn’t see one fragging but did some serious threats which we put a stop to ASAP.

Thank you for your service.

All 3 of my platoon sergeants did at least one tour in Nam, as did several squad leaders.

Was I a screwup for having 3 separate platoons in 18 months? LOL, no, it was a normal rotation. Our battery was composite Chaparral/Vulcan. I had both Chaparral platoons, and one of the Vulcan platoons, taking each through the tac evals. As it turned out, I was the only PL who had at least one ARTEP under their belts.

During my last 3 months, we had an Infantry First Sergeant who had 3 tours in Nam. He was brought in to bring needed leadership to our NCOs at our battery.

I remember him approaching me as we were conducting a battery level tac eval/ARTEP, in which I wore two hats: XO and Maintenance Officer.

"Sir, what am I supposed to do? I know nothing about Air Defense Artillery."

Laughing, I replied "you know how to set up a CP (Command Post)? That's right up you're alley."

I think I spent more time at the NCO Club at Hahn AB, than the officer's club. That could be seen as a mistake, but we were the only Army unit on the air base, and the other officers were married.

My first platoon sergeant got me kicked up to Battalion HQ, thankfully. When he learned that Dept. of the Army was going to conduct an inspection of our NBC program, he sang my praises enough, that I was moved to Battalion HQ to take over that job. He was NCOIC of the Operations Section (S-3).

Everyone on the face of the earth has innate desires and proclivities, but being a reasoning animal we learn how to control those desires or proclivities for our betterment or the betterment of those we love.

The “homosexual” person might have desire for the same sex, but the ‘gay’ person acts them out. They especially do so now because people are looking at it in an “enlightened” way. But it is still something they could control if they wanted to. There are many stories of “homosexuals” who chose and maintained celibacy or normal marriage, so that they could continue supporting what was right and good. On the other hand you have Reverend Gene Robinson.

And as for Asperger, very few really have that. Kind of like the person who loses their temper around their family or friends, but never around the big guy at the bar or their boss. They claim they can’t control it, but it never seems to happen where the perceived response might be really self-destructive, as in physically dangerous. It only happens where they think they can get away with it, and they usually do.

I’m trying to navigate this consider the potential to sucker people in.

The media line about Putin and Russia usually suggests a place hostile to LGBTQ people.

Is this a line that could end up recruiting LGBTQ people into military service or to become some sort of fighters?

Prior to 9/11 and after 9/11 jihadists were recruited not for US military service but into jihadist formations to fight in Afghanistan during the Soviet occupation era, post 9/11 Libya and Syria for the interests of the US and its allies with the involvement of the Gulf Arabs.

The Gulf sheikhs got to unload the radicals who might depose them into the human shredder of those wars back in 2011 and since.

The jihadists fight Russians too and there’s a lot of noise in the West about Uyghur Muslims in Western China being mistreated.

Jihadists likely to end up in Central Asia to fight for US interests maybe even a war on the Chicoms in Western China for the sake of the Uyghurs IMHO.

....the LEFT (meaning democrats and NBC,CBS,CNN,MSNBC,LAT,NYT, WP, NPR, the VFB (Vast Federal Bureaucracy) and many others) do their best to convince 60% of us that women, gays and trannies in a foxhole with their sons and grandsons, with hot lead flying, are just as good of fighters as men and “normal”, non dysphoric people. Unfortunately for our military, 60% of us FLATLY AIN’T BUYING IT !!!
