A teacher wounded in last month’s mass shooting at a Texas elementary school said he will never forgive law enforcement for waiting more than an hour to stop the gunman who killed 19 students and two teachers.
Arnulfo Reyes, hospitalized after being shot twice during the May 24 massacre at Robb Elementary School, spoke of his anger toward police during an emotional interview that aired Tuesday. He described feeling abandoned by officers who stood in a hallway even as students begged for help in repeated calls to 911.
“After everything, I get more angry, because you have a bulletproof vest. I had nothing! I had nothing,” a crying Reyes said in a segment broadcast on “Good Morning America.” “You’re supposed to protect and serve. There is no excuse for their actions.”

In his interview with ABC, Reyes detailed the horror that unfolded in his classroom as he and his students hid under tables waiting for help. The fourth-grade English and language arts teacher said May 24 was “going to be a good day,” with students receiving awards during a ceremony at the school.
Some of the students went home after the ceremony. But 11 stayed at school, and Reyes put on a movie for them in Room 111. Suddenly, shots rang out.
“The kids started asking out loud, ‘Mr. Reyes, what is going on?’ ” he recalled. “And I said, ‘I don’t know what’s going on, but let’s go ahead and get under the table. Get under the table and act like you’re asleep.’ ”
He was gathering them under the table when he turned and saw the gunman.

He fell to the floor and decided, “I’m going to act like I’m asleep also.” He said the Lord’s Prayer and the Hail Mary and “prayed and prayed...

Saw him on the local news and he was pissed off 🤪

Under the table only works in case of a Hydrogen bomb being detonated over the school. Not for a school shooter.
lets be honest. the locals would have waited till the shooting stopped for at least an hour.
The border patrol ruined their plans.
Uvalde police appear to be a bunch of clowns who cannot think on their own.
I can’t blame him, but it seems everyone in power forgives the police making his burden even heavier.
This man has speech available to him that would otherwise be held outside of first amendment protections.
Turn up the heat, sir.
“Duck and cover!”
With oddities, such as two dad’s, two interview’s, on two different networks, for the same named ‘dead’ student,
this ‘teacher’ would do well to switch his blame from the police to the FIB.
De-fund the FIB/CIA, and 80% (? or more) of the mass school ‘shootings’ would disappear.
Everything that COULD go wrong DID go wrong in this particular situation.
As always, we and our Children and Grandbabies are on our own due to stupid, STUPID Socialist Democrat legislation through the years and absolutely NO back-up from ‘republicans’ that are SUPPOSED to be Constitution-abiding, LAW & ORDER types on OUR side!
*SPIT*
Plan and VOTE accordingly, FRiends.
No training could have prepared teachers for what happened in the classroom that day, Reyes said. He called instead for changes to the law.
“Nothing gets you ready for this,” he said. “We trained our kids to stay under the table and that’s what I thought, you know, at the time. But we set them up to be like ducks. You can give us all the training you want but it’s — the laws have to change.”
If he had been armed with a little bit of training, he could have stopped the shooter right there. He had plenty of time to do so.
Instead, they trained him and the children to be sitting ducks.
they trained him and the children to be sitting ducks

That is exactly the intent of of gun control legislation! Takes the guns out of law abiding citizen but does nothing to prevent criminal
Why didn't Arando Dando carry a weapon? Does he want a salary and a firearm and a personal private armed guard?
What the hell? What else does he want, an AR 50 fifty-15 machine gun supplied to him, and shooting lessons, and a maybe a bullet-proof limo dropped by his home as well? Where was he and his personal fire-arm when the children were dying?
Earthquakes...we were trained to get under desks for them in 60s
Arm and train responsible teachers.
In a just world they would be invisible at any coffee shop, last to be seated and never served at all the restaurants, skipped over at the deli, never get a haircut, never buy a shirt, never see a smile, and always, always, always hear whispering and snickering behind them.
He’s right
Actually lock the doors
Else,
Throw everything you can and swarm
Might be against the rules.
But sure... it was his job to try to defend the children.
The police are just there to do paperwork.
While he was still shooting, they were trying to call the school hoping he would answer the phone and they wold politely ask him to stop
Hard to say if ruined their plans or just showed their incompetence just yet.
