Security footage from Robb Elementary School in Texas shows that a back door was propped open by a teacher before Tuesday's deadly mass shooting, Texas law enforcement officials said.
At 11:27 a.m. on Tuesday morning, the door that police believe was used by the 18-year-old gunman to enter the school was propped open by a teacher, Director of Texas Department of Public Safety Steven McCraw said at a Friday press conference.
McCraw said the detail was confirmed through "video evidence."
After the gunman crashed his vehicle in a ditch just a minute later, the teacher ran to get a phone and walked back to the propped-open door.
Two men at a nearby funeral home heard the crash and went to the scene, only to find the gunman exit the vehicle. The men ran as they were shot at, but were not hit.
Through security footage inside the school, McGraw said the teacher panicked and called police at 11:30 a.m. to report the crash and gunman.
Eventually, at 11:33 a.m. the gunman entered the school through the door, barricaded himself inside a classroom and massacred 19 children and two adults.
McCraw said police who arrived at the scene were told by a commander not to engage with the shooter because they believed there was no more threat to children.

a teacher or a friend of the shooters who was called ???
So this says he shot out window in a door. Is that how he got in? Could LE not see what was going on in classrooms through windows in doors?
Important point…Ramos was the one responsible.
However, I don’t think he even had a shrink, because his dysfunctional family was in denial, he had dropped out of school, and with the shutdown, he’d lost his last bridge with normalcy.
In Texas or Arizona, opening doors doesn’t help cool things off, even if there is no A/C. This school was modern, with great insulation, and built low to keep the exposure to the elements at a minimum.
1. She was getting the H out of there.
2.She wanted her phone so she could shop Amazon.
3.She worked for the FBI. On that front, it sounds crazy. Not as crazy as locking down the world for a flu that kills 99% of infected...wait, I mean 1 %.... How about as crazy as untested, experimental mRNA treatments? Or FBI taking the assassin to the Texas cartoon drawing contest? Shall I continue?
This is how groping be the TSA started just in case youre a skyjacker ...
But the skyjackers just walked in ...
There may be more to the story as using a misguided kid as a pawn to take away the guns of the patriots.
She would prop the door open because it would lock behind her. She wanted to get something out of her car, so she left it propped open so she could get back in. There is a parking light right beside the door.
Why did she not kick the prop out and pull the door shut, locking it, when she heard gunfire? THAT is the $64,000 question.
Gaining access to “secured areas” is easy.
Especially if you have some kind of suicidal bent
Fix the $&%#!! Air Conditioning
I have been in many schools, and Uvalde, Texas at the end of May can get very warm outside. Now stick 40+ kids in a poorly ventilated room with windows that open a whole 6 inches and ask yourself “what would I do?”
They have money to transport kids all over Texas for a fricking ball game; but no money to maintain heating or Air Conditioning. We wouldn’t put up with that crap at a grocery store; but we ignore the schools.
What is the point of Active Shooter training, metal detectors and bullet proof glass; when some idiot lets the AC go out, and teachers block the door open to keep the temperature below 90° in the classroom
There is a reason for everything. And sometimes the root causes of those reasons is stupidity
In day to day life, safety measures are often disabled for convenience.
It doesn't usually cause people to die.
Sometimes it does.
People are stupid.

Good question. I don't understand why, either.
After shooting out a door and shooting teachers and children in one room, the killer went into "an adjoining classroom." Did that room have a door that he closed and locked? Was that the door the police couldn't breach? Too many questions.
“..Apparently, this school’s idea of warning teachers was to text or email them....”
There must have been an alarm because one of the students being interviewed said there have been so many “lockdowns” he thought it just another one.
What shrink ?
Most classrooms have windows in their doors don’t they?
The whole town grew complacent with so many lockdowns due to border jumpers. Police chases are commonplace in that town.
Do the schools there use an alarm system for lockdowns? If so, did everyone there ignore the alarm? So many questions.
You’re right... It sounds like the police are making excuses.
Lol. All shooters have a shrink. He was in the hospital and they let him go. I thought they were exports on human behavior.
The Texas Tort Claims Act limits public school's liability in tort to claims arising out of "the operation or use of a motor-driven vehicle."
You can have a million police and all the equipment in the world, but people have to follow safety protocols.
Doors open.
