“They are sending pallets, pallets of baby formula to the border. Meanwhile, in our own district at home, we cannot find baby formula.”
— Rep. Kat Cammack (R-Fla.), on social media, May 12
“While mothers and fathers stare at empty grocery store shelves in a panic, the Biden administration is happy to provide baby formula to illegal immigrants coming across our southern border. This is yet another one in a long line of reckless, out-of-touch priorities from the Biden administration when it comes to securing our border and protecting Americans.”.......
At issue is something called the Flores consent decree, which began as a class-action lawsuit regarding the treatment of migrant children. The Justice Department negotiated a settlement in 1997 during President Bill Clinton’s administration.
The Flores settlement requires the federal government to release rather than detain undocumented immigrant children, first to their parents if possible, to other adult relatives if not, and to licensed programs willing to accept custody if no relatives are available. A 2015 judicial ruling then said the Flores settlement covered all children in immigration officials’ custody, regardless of whether they were apprehended crossing the border alone or with family.......
This is a ridiculous faux outrage. The shortage of baby formula is a serious issue that the administration is seeking to address. But at the same time, the administration cannot be faulted for following the law and providing baby formula to undocumented immigrants. Anyone who suggests this is the result of specific Biden policies, i.e., his “reckless, out-of-touch priorities,” earns Four Pinocchios.

Oh, so NOW we follow the laws at the borders. Or only SOME laws.
The reason why people are outraged, is Biden opened the border, and is giving aliens what Americans should have for their children. From what I hear & see on TV, most of the invaders are adults, not infants!
“While mothers and fathers stare at empty grocery store shelves in a panic,
Yet if they followed the law and the court orders, those babies would NOT be in America. They would be in Mexico. So you break the law, admit them, then find a law that says you have to feed them. Bottom line, illegals are prioritized over Americans. And I will bet they overstocked in anticipation of the lifting of Title 42.
Imagine writing this and thinking you are on the right/moral side.
Does Biden have any legal duty to the American people? Any duty to be faithful to our laws?
Now the Biden adminsitration is compaining they must ollow the law, whereas they fail to follow the law on so many things, that this journalist should be the subject of ridicule for even publishing such a response.
Why ‘faux’ outrage?
Glenn Kessler has been editor and chief writer of The Fact Checker since 2011.
This reminds me of when Trump Admin sent those pallets to Puerto Rico for relief, and the mayor stood in front of the pallets, on the news, claiming that Trump didn’t help (or something like that)... and the food on the pallets was setting there rotting.
Kessler’s full-time job is to perform public relations work for the Biden regime by often issuing fake “fact checks” of conservatives
It’s not faux outrage.
It’s an atrocity.
Illegals shouldn’t even be allowed to stay in this country. If you’re going to appeal to following the law, start with deporting every illegal alien invader.
Undocumented immigrants = Illegal aliens
It’s amazing how the left continuously plays the public for fools. Whenever the facts are uncomfortable or inconvenient for them, they simply declare the whole thing to be a “non-story” or “debunked.” No facts, no explanation. They just say that there’s nothing to it. Period.
We’ve seen this over and over and over againt with...
Hunter Biden’s laptop
Joe Biden’s dementia
The invasion on the southern border
The covid lab leak
The failure of the covid vaccines
The BLM crime wave
The looting and vandalism and violence of BLM/antifa
Massive voter fraud in 2020
Runaway inflation
Collapsing markets
etc etc etc ad infinitum
When they were wanted and needed, Trump found a way to get thousands of ventilators to the states in the early days of War on Covid.
Distilleries engaged producing hand-sanitzer as a new side-business for the consumers that needed and wanted it.
It has to be willful negligence on the part of the Brandon regime to not come up with either alternate sources for formula or alternatives that parents can create with the resources available at grocery stores. They’re engaged in creating another fake crisis so they can present a tortureous, money-wasting “solution.”
Also, the current regime is very selective in the laws they will enforce and studiously not enforce.
Zackly.
Great point.
Exactly how is the administration addressing this shortage?
