Ratcliffe predicts still-classified documents will blow Durham inquiry wide open

A great deal more Russiagate intelligence remains shrouded from public view and will stun the nation, according to former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe.

The Trump-era spy chief expounded upon his expectation that there will be many more indictments in special counsel John Durham's criminal inquiry into the origins and conduct of the Russia investigation.

“I expect there to be a lot more indictments to be forthcoming from John Durham besides the ones that have trickled out so far. And that's based on documents, some of which — many of which are not yet declassified," Ratcliffe said during a recent episode of the Charlie Kirk Show.

Ratcliffe, a former Republican congressman from Texas who served as overseer of the nation's 17 intelligence agencies in the latter part of the Trump administration, announced in October 2020 that he handed over nearly 1,000 pages of materials to the Justice Department to assist Durham, who is revealing more secrets as he takes people to court.

So there’s a coup of trump do destroy his presidency in treasonous ways and that all stay classified for years. But Dems can successfully impeach Trump on a made up narrative involving a phone call. Something is wrong here.

Bla bla bla of the same old GOP. If you knew and didn’t indict, then you are part of the problem. Dumbass!

These investigations lead to a single low level flunky getting embarrassed nationally, no other consequences for them. Then they go away and we're told there was just one guy who did anything wrong, and it wasn't really that bad anyway.

So far this is going right according to script. I'll believe something big is coming when it actually comes, and not before.

Until Strzok, McCabe, Page, Baker and Horowitz are indicted, who in the hell cares at this point?

I want to see these folks held accountable as much as anyone else. But, Horowitz covered up their lies with semantics and everyone shrugged their shoulders and went home. Now McCabe and Strzok are on tv as analysts.

I’ve been hearing for the past 25 years that all this corruption will be “blown wide open” at any moment.

Yawn. Wake me up when it actually happens.

People like Hillary Clinton will never spend a minute behind bars. Just using her as an example.

Perhaps. but if you’ve been paying attention over the years, John Ratcliffe has been a straight shooter and pretty dam% accurate in his assessments.

Ok good. Now the talkin’s done... lets roll up our sleeves and get to work! So, when are these indictments coming out... tomorrow? Or Tuesday? What do I need to do, should I drive to DC to help pull security? Should I leave right now?

Hey.... where’d everyone go?

“The lack of spine on the congressional right comes to mind.”

Looking at the fall of our Republic, a significant factor has been the abdication of authority and accountability by Congress. The founders envisioned the representatives of the people (House) and the representatives of the states (Senate) to be the check on the power of the central state. The threat was always the Executive (President) would become a dictator, or the Judiciary (courts) would become dictatorial.

Through the 20th century, and continued in this century, Congress delegated law making and interpretation power to the Executive (regulations) and Judiciary (voiding laws passed by Congress on the whim of a judge). Today the Executive chooses which laws it will or will not enforce. Congress in many cases delegates the regulatory power when it passes legislation allowing the Executive to write regulations to make the law say what the unelected bureaucrats want it to say.

The Constitution does not guarantee Congress will pass only good legislation but the redress for bad legislation is the Presidential veto. If Congress passes bad legislation by overriding a veto, the redress for the people is to complain to their elected representatives. There is no provision in the Constitution for individual judges to void laws or the implementation of laws because the judge perceives the law to be bad. That power was interpreted into being by the courts themselves. Since the Constitution allows Congress the power of defining the role of the lower federal courts (below the Supreme Court) Congress can pass a law at any time stating federal judges cannot declare legislation unconstitutional or block the implementation of legislation. It is Congress that chooses not to stop the judicial tyranny of the federal courts.

As to the budget Congress has completely abdicated fiscal responsibility. Billions, and now trillions of dollars are appropriated with wide discretion given to the Executive branch’s unelected bureaucrats to spend. Instead of building budgets department by department, and eliminating failing programs or ending activities no longer necessary, Congress assumes a baseline (last year’s budget plus a % increase) as given and then adds more spending. Instead of passing budgets department by department, which would give more transparency and public scrutiny, all spending is accumulated in huge last minute omnibus “must pass before we know what’s in it” spending bills developed by Congressional aides. These aides work with executive branch bureaucrats, lobbyists, and other powerful outside actors to develop the budget of thousands of pages which Congress passes without reading or reviewing. As a result these bills are filled with billions in wasteful spending, much of it pork for special interests, that gets built into the baseline budget for the following year.

Congresscritters love these huge last minute spending bills because it allows them to avoid accountability. They tell constituents, “I know there was some bad stuff in that bill which I opposed but to keep the government from shutting down we had to vote for the total bill which includes many things you support.”

Congress no longer represents the people or the states. Politicians of both parties represent themselves, and the special interests who fund their campaigns. What you see in Congress is not a lack of spine. The reality is their interests do not align with yours and they are manipulating the system to enrich themselves and pay off their donors.

It just may be that when Trump supporters began yelling “lock her up!”, “lock her up!” was when the Democrats decided they had to deny Trump a second term no matter how obvious they made it look. They knew there was intense sincerity in those cries and Trump just might give in to them. No way the DNC could risk that happening.

John Ratcliffe was the DCI. He didn't - and doesn't - have the legal authority to indict anyone. And he was the only one of Trump's DCI's to do anything in terms of the documents, and he was in office for less than 8 months.

Trump was literally the only guy who had the authority to declassify stuff immediately, and he could have declassified all this stuff. He just didn't.

That's on him.

Excellent rendition to what is going on now for decades. Remember that quaint idea about all spending proposals start in the house. Remember those times when some proposed budgets with millions in deficits and the place went wild? Today they propose multi trillions of deficits and no one blinks an eye. It is now just a short time to the entire scam collapses on its own weight. The coming interest rate rapid rise will hasten it. No matter whom or what party wins not, the curtain has fallen. Just keep in mind when the end does come, don’t begin fighting your neighbors, find and take out the politicians who promoted this disaster.
