SHANGHAI, April 13 (Reuters) - China's commercial capital, Shanghai, warned on Wednesday that anyone who violates COVID-19 lockdown rules will be dealt with strictly, while also rallying citizens to defend their city as its tally of new cases rebounded to more than 25,000.
The city police department spelled out the restrictions that most of the 25 million residents are facing and called on them to "fight the epidemic with one heart ... and work together for an early victory".

My first question also. What do the Chinese know that we do not know? I have two posits.
1. They know something far worse is coming down the line from covid, of which I think is highly doubtful. Each variant has become more infective but less virulent to the point it is just the flu. That is what viruses do.
2. They are trying to wreck the economy of the world and just use this as an excuse.
Their actions are odd, as shutting down commerce hurts them greatly also. There is something we do not know.

I’ll play.
1) Chinese leadership knows it is going to experience a famine and is trying to mitigate this by starving select people to death first, such people being likely resisters to the regime.
2) Chinese leadership fears the people will interpret economic collapse, famine, and or some degree of illness and death from a Covid outbreak, even if it is only on the level of what we experienced, as them losing the “mandate of heaven.” As I understand it, when the people in China feel their leaders have lost this they are duty bound to change said leadership by any means necessary.
3) Chinese leadership fears exposure as one of the major contributors to the ‘rona, thus causing Chinese citizens to turn against said leadership.
4) Chinese leaderships fears a virus will be released on their population by some other country as revenge for the ‘rona.
5) Some combination of the above.
Thus, Covid outbreaks must be stemmed at all cost and people terrified into submission and weakened by starvation so that they cannot overturn the leadership.
This is what I’ve wondered.
What do they know that they haven’t told the world?
6) The vaccines they used on their people are even worse than Pfizer and Moderna and the ill effects are about to take off.
7) One of their damn dams is going to burst.
Let’s see mayor groot try that in Chi-congo.

Nobody even has symptoms. This is all from mass testing.
And they’re doing it because they can.
This is widely viewed as a test of the Chinese government’s power, since there has apparently been some murmuring against them and they want to nip that in the bud.

It is really, really bad there right now.
The "cases" are about one-tenth of one percent of the population of the Shanghai district. Cases, not reported deaths. A look today at the "official" deaths tallied for China show 13,586 over the entire twenty-eight months of this "punishment" pandemic in a nation of 1.4 billion. The "official" data and some simple arithmetic tell that this is not a pandemic of a virus, but of either rampant and likely false positive tests, or something more sinister.
The Chinese Communists are flooding Western media with imagery of hazmat suits and more. For "cases?"
Far more likely this is part of a coordinated effort to gin up more economic lockdowns in the West. After all, Fauci trotted out the same BS only days ago. It's now about "cases" and "Test! Test! Test!" And test using Chinese-made tests.... We're being played, Reuters and all are playing along, and Fauci salivates.
It’s OK. After the people starve to death china can say they cured Covid.
